I wanted to say thank you to the ME community in general and the ME community on the Strategy forums in particular for being amazing. One of the best communities I've been a part of. Cheers.

And to keep it in line with the strategy forums, what is your favourite class and why?

Personally I love the Engineer. I really like how great they are at stripping defenses and how tactial they are. I've never had such a great time playing this game as I had as an Engineer.

Your turn!

I agree. Engineer and Vanguard are my 2 favorite, but if I had to pick just one fav, it would be Engineer. Going against mechs? No, problem, hack 'em. Armor? Incinerate. Getting shot up? Drone to take the heat off.

I'm a Vanguard fan. It took me a long time to develop the confidence and skill to rely on Charge on Insanity, and I've still got a lot to learn. I think the Vanguard is the most thrilling class to play.

Sentinel - I play red mage type classes (i.e. Jack of all trades, master of none)

I am a Soldier/Infiltrator player. Mostly Soldiers, but any class with SNIPEZ as a go-to gets my marks. So I do like playing as an Infiltrator quite a bit (but less killing power than a Soldier, so less preferred). But I have been super digging the Engineer recently. And since I just got the Viper for him, I've sort of converted him into a SNIPEZ character with A LOT less DPS and A LOT more post-defenses CC ability.

I'm an Adept Addict though Engineer is great too, but biotics >> tech, so sorry Engi, Adept it is(/remains).

I'm leaning towards Vanguard despite also liking Adept, Charging into people and finishing off with the shotgun never gets old.

Word. Wished I had found this place sooner. A lot of helpful people here and interesting ideas/concepts.

As for favorite class? I'm not sure. I haven't given them all a fair shake yet. Vanguard was my first class I played on ME2(was also Insanity). Charge is incredibly fun and good. The more I've played the less I've liked the class though. I've done like four or five Vanguard playthroughs a few on NG+ too.

I like to play aggressive and fast as possible, so I've been playing like that with every class. Sentinel and Vanguard have gotten too easy at doing that. I've been trying Adept and Infiltrator with those styles and it has been somewhat rewarding.

As of right now I'd say Vanguard is my favorite. Although Adept is gaining fast and so is Infiltrator. I can't stand Sentinel, and Soldier/Engineer I haven't played enough to judge. Although I don't think I'd like Engineer -- drone/pet class are never my thing.

I go through phases. My current phase has Adepts/Sentinel as my co-favorites, for CQC/warp bombing. My all time favorite is Soldier, but since the Mattock, it's too easy. Granted, I could simply not use the Mattock (I'm thinking of doing an Avenger/Claymore soldier for kicks, but haven't gotten around to it yet), but I've always had difficulty self-restricting, even when I know that the "best way" to play is simply overpowered.

Edit: Forgot to echo the sentiment that this is a great community. Thanks to everyone that keeps it that way!

I rather enjoy playing classes that feel like tornados of destruction, so the adept gets my vote. It really is a thinking man's class and makes you feel like a genius once you've mastered it, also very rewarding.

Yes this community is very helpful, so thank you to all who have contributed over the last year. A lot more accessible than the old forums (which were painful to read at times).
I've got to say the biggest help for me has been the huge vanguard threads, as my initial attempt back last spring had me dying a lot, but after a while I learned how to use charge to full effect.

Still, favourite class through both games remains the adept, because I like "flaying people alive, with my mind!" ^_^

I used to be an Adept girl - killing things at ranged. I have tried the other classes and after a successful run as a Vanguard in ME1 I'm now working though ME2 as one.

What fun! What deaths when I get careless ;-) I'm loving it and headbutting Harbie is now my favourite thing to do.

Yay to community for giving me guides to nose through when I was wondering how the dickens you played Vanguard without tossing the pc out the window!

"I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite community on the ME Forums" :D

My favorite experience has been with the ME2 Vanguard.

Although, I have more experience with the ME2 Soldier (mostly RP reasons), and ME Soldier (I don't play ME for the combat anymore and rather breeze through combat asap).

The Vanguard is fun with it's style of play but I'm still very raw with the class. The Soldier class in both games get to use all those weapons and Immunity and AR are solid on the 360.

And ME2 Sentinel gets Honorable Mention (Assault Sentinels are so OP!).

The soldier, I love having a weapon for every situation, quite literally
