Personally, I simply turn off the extra items or just drop them.

wouldn't that be the point though?
you want them, you can have them.
you don't want them, that's also fine just not download them or use them.

We'll have official word on these tomorrow (PST time, when humans are at the controls of office computers once again) - in the meantime, no need to get all worked up over this as this time around the offerings are much simpler.
Signature Edition includes:
- the 4 digital armory items
- The Exiled Prince DLC
- digital game soundtrack
- and 'more' content for those that buy new (to be revealed tomorrow)
- in total, the ~$20 additional content mentioned to be part of the SE version
Regular Edition includes:
- the same 'more' content for those that buy new (to be revealed tomorrow)
Any pre-order (SE or Regular from when DA2 pre-orders started until game launches) at a participating retailer - gets the Fadeshear and Lion of Orlais items (sword/shield).
The major retailers should be on the 'participating' list, but as always it is best to confirm directly with your store of preference - we don't decide who participates, they do.
EA Store pre-orders, will get an additional item - The Irons - on top of the two pre-order items mentioned above.
That's it. :innocent:
Completely separate from the box/game ordering fun, are promo items that we'll offer up for various activities on the community before and after launch - for example the Staff of Parlathan, etc. Watch for details on how to get those here on the site, and we'll have a handy page up near launch that will detail how to get the items revealed to date.

Wow, do we get all this stuff right away in game? Hawke and team are going to be pretty well equiped for refugees.

I have a question. Do all Gamestop preorder get this bouns? I preordered the game from an Italian Gamestop shops, I hope they will be here as well.
They should. The GS in Germany had the same bonus items for ME2 for example. Maybe you should call them for confirmation?

I have to call them anyways, because this morning I called them to have confirm about the SE upgrade. The one who responded me said to call this afternoon, so I could talk with the the manager, in order to have some certain news.

i have a feeling that all preorder items will be avaible once you get to the armory in the amell estate
I would hope that at least the scaling gear is rather early in the game implemented (maybe not right away but fairly fast in ones hands). Strong high end tier weapons should of course wait a bit. After all, the search&collect fever won't be hitting quite as deliciously hard as it should if we already have top-tier gear right away!

That's not a bad idea. It would help avoid the Dwarf Commoner situation where the character has about three coppers to his/her name, but is loaded down with ridiculously powerful gear that's worth its weight in gold.PrinceOfFallout13 wrote...

Also, now I'm excited to see what the "more" content included with new purchases is!

I would love to see something that can be both used in DA2 and in ME3 too. Like the Blood Dragon Armor.
Or something Mass Effect 2-3 related stuff.

Yeah you should do, we got the ME2 bonus items too and usually get the same bonus as everywhere else in gamestop. I just hope we are getting them from Amazon too because its too late for me to change my pre-order now.Systemlord Baal wrote...

Can you inform me where I should go if I want to punch whatever uninformative jerk at EA made the Dutch language version of the January 4th EA Dragon Age II newsletter?
Not that the Bioware site itself was more informative. According to the information there, it wouldn't even be available here in Holland (it was), and none of the available retailers here were mentioned (though they had it).

That may cause whining "I preordered because I wanted stuff but now I don't get stuff until halfway though the game". I'm guessing you'll get the items right away but won't be able to use them until level 100 or something.

Personally, i like the pre-order stuff, but i do agree with you that, story-wise, there's often no attempt to make these items make sense. i just wanted to point out though, that hawke is part of a high up noble family, there's no real reason to think he's a *poor* refugee.

It's part of a high up noble family in Kirkwall. We don't know how wealthy his family was in Lothering.
