As noted, that's if they're lucky. Also, that figure applies to the humans who've been part of galactic civilization post-contact with the Citadel. It's really not that hard: they did not have FTL. The Charon Relay had not been discovered, nor had the prothean cache that led to said relay. The amount of subjective time that's passed for them is way less than the ~110 years since their departure.
Did their family members stop breeding then when the colonists went on the expedition?
Obviously not, hence one of the colonists having "descendants".
