(...are belong to us.)

Anyhow, starting a topic on a source of interest to me: Hawke's home base, the Amell estate. This is, presumably, where Bethany or Carver will also stay and rest at. Hawke's mother, Leandra, is there to be a minor quest-giver, and dole out correspondence from other people. I wonder if we can write back?

I'm very curious about it and its potential. How large is it? Do other Amell family members stay there (we know that Hawke has extended family members)? Do we have servants? Is it upgradable, or will it change over time? Will certain areas open or close as the storyline progresses? Do our decisions and choices in the game affect anything about it--like perhaps who lives there (LI?), the condition of the house, or so on?

The thing I think I want to know of a more critical importance is can we store equipment there? I'm an equipment hog, so I like to keep the most valuable objects to myself, as well as objects that were of any significance to the story. Also, it's my impression that this might be the Amell estate:

That appears to be Leandra, dressed as a noble (oh, how I miss you Mommy Cousland). There are dwarves there as well--twin Sandals! Our servants? Our compatriots? Family friends? They appear to be next to this table. There's also a pretty, pretty chandelier here, for those who like to stare at pretty, pretty chandeliers.

How about, "Can we customize it?"

I want a Balverine skin rug and door-knobs that look like nipples.

WOAH! I know this is off topic and I'm sure someone has already brought this up but I did not see it anywhere. Kindly oblige me and tell me if there's any connection between the Amells mentioned here and the male human mage in Origins whose last name is also Amell. I have not played a mage much and yesterday I started a game (obviously made him look like Hawke and named him Hawke too) only to find out his last name is Amell! I am in shock! Someone enlighten me please? Sorry once again for going off topic but for such a small thing, I dunno whether starting a new thread is worth it..

You certainly do pose some interesting questions... all of which I would love to hear or know the answers too...though most are probadly in the play to see variety. I definetely wanna know about the equipment as well(since I'm an equipment hog as well...atleast for the unique/epic gear on top of the DLC gear we get with the game)...because I definetely wanna store all my rare/unique armor and weapons there...not the simple or vendor junk as it is referred too. I would say that your LI does visit you...as their are scenes where Isabela is in your bedroom( I'm assuming) with you. I also think your 'meeting' room is in this house because of scenes with Aveline and MaleHawke and Aveline and Fenris (all from the dev diary just released).

Given that crossroad ke... I mean Vigil Keep was in Awakening it seems like bioware realized that everyone loved crossroad keep (not Vigil) so it seems likely they will put somethin like it in. (and hopefully more fleshed out than the shell that was vigil).

Please, Lord, let it be what Soldier's Peak should have been.

Storage for stuff, places to put armour and knicknacks (like Awakening), customization. And whether it changes as time passes. I hope we see some/all of these.

Dev quote somewhere. I'll have to dig it up.

Leandra--the Momma Hawke--was born Leandra Amell, before she married Papa Hawke. The devs confirmed she is of (minor, and not truly significant) relation to the Human Magi Origin Warden, male or female. If you need citations, I'll provide them. =][/quote]

It would be nice if we could store items there. I too am kind of a pack rat when I play & am loathe to sell off unique loot/armor/equipment that I come across.  Customization would be neat, but not as essential as being able to store stuff.
Perhaps it's going to be like the captain's cabin of ME2.  That would be neat.
@The Big Nothing don't forget the hollow men skulls for mounting on the walls :D

I think it is the Amell Estate, and it probably is the home base. Unless, you know, Hawke doesn't want to live with his mommy his entire life! (It's time to be a big boy and move out on your own, dear!) I wonder who that is a picture of on the wall in the back. And why is the place so greenish in hue.

The place looks huge, Hawke could have an entire wing to him/herself and never have to see the family. With separate entrance for the LI(s).

The grey-green hue seems pretty widespread in this game (see: Merrill). It's, um, a change from brown. :?
