If I wanted to play a game where I had children, I'd play the Sims.

If I wanted to play a game where I wasted my time making friendships, I'd play the Sims.
Is that all of them?
For relevance. It is so old already.
I wonder what the Fable version is.

If there is, the punchline should be that the baby's name is predetermined

Personally I don't care one way or the other about pregnancies. If it fits in the story then it does, if not then not. I personally liked the pregnancy in BG2. Though the whole idea of "Life force is tied with my own, so if I get resurrected so will the baby" is silly, but I see the necessity of it.

But this topic is pointless now, only a trollbait. And Hawke is not a Warden.

But SPOILER ALERT FOR RED DEAD REDEMPTION,
Rockstar beat me to it with Red Dead Redemption. Near the end of the game, John Marston, the main character, get kill, the player can't avoid it. Then you play his son and avenge him.

Sorry I didn't read 12 pages of replies. Wardens are all sterile I thought, so Hawk will never have children or be pregnant.

why would you want pregnacy in the game? for a roleplay aspect!! nonesence you do not gain an emotional tie to the child it does not instill any paternal/maternal instincts within you, having a child is a life changing event which can make even the most callous evil person revaluate thier decisions but this wouldnt be reflected in game as you wouldnt have that kind of attachment to the child.
My only thought is perhaps you want the child as some kind of trophy to say to your mates "Yeah I had a child with compinion 101 its so cool"
So nope having a child in this style of game holds no intrest for me

With regard to how the child would be raised, I imagine he would require either a stay at home dad/mom or a nanny. Or it could be like how Matrim travels with that kid (can't remember his name either) in WoT. The time skips in DA2 would be perfect for glossing over the kid's annoying toddler years.

But this is where the problem arises, It is not a tough decision as thier is no emotional attachment to be had.Cazlee wrote...
I like the idea. Isolde asks something like "What would you have done if it was your child?" when she defends her actions regarding Connor. I always thought this was a foreshadowing alert and that having children would be inevitable. This would have eventual led to the warden finding herself in a similar position as Isolde, and having to make tough decisions..
A player who decides he is morally corrupt for the playthrough will go oh well kill the child and move on, the player following the path of purity will go ohh lets do all we can to save the child and then moves on, none of these decisions based on the child but rather on what progresses thier character best.

I'm not so sure. Take the Witcher, for example. Despite the small amount of fatherly interactions we had with (Alvin?) people felt emotional attachment to him... he's just a helpless little kid afterall.

No, my point was the reason people didn't mind Alvin was because he was already past the annoying stage, and the fact that he wasn't our kid. at least thats how I felt about it. It was like picking up a stray cat, a stray teleporting time traveling cat.
