well...I foresee a pregnancy in ME3 (Shepard said she wants Liarta to give him lots of blue children.....that one line was awfully cute)

as for DA2, well it's a 10 years story so, why not? I'd love to see Isabela as a mommy

Because a year + is alot of time to be missing. She would be all out of shape and **** thats no good for adventurers.

If she did have a baby she would just become a housewife or something atleast for awhile.

Unless shes a horrible mom and just leaves the babie with someone else. Which is a possibility since it's Isabela but who knows.

It'd be more realistic if SOMEONE got knocked up. Doesnt necessarily have to be a Warden... but it does happen in real life... as it is, the only children we usually see are human ones...

yeah but it happend alot less in the middle ages....

not pregnancy!  People didnt have contraception, so they were poppin kiddos out all the time.  The survival rate was much lower due to the hazards, but I like to think most people still had some sort of family...

true but, they didnt have as men kids out of wed lock as we do....

Everyone forgot about the Male Dwarven Noble baby daddy quest. Gorim II is sad.

For DA2? Do not want. I'd rather see Bethany or Carver married with children later in the plotline, if anything at all.

if she tells you she is pregnant before a 3 years time skip (knowing momma hawke is also alive) she could be very well all recovered and the toddler baby left with grandma for the time being.

My mother was working when I was like 4 to 6, my father was away with the army and I was left in the care of my grandmother in Venice for 2 years. it is not that uncommon or cruel

Everything that would give the story more depth is welcome.
So pregnancy is O.K. (Especially if BioWare is involved)
BUT DragonAge Ladies have the tendency to run away if they are pregnant!
So this time I want some kind of magic item! Something like "The mighty chains of pregnancy" Posted Image

Yes, yes, I know Aerie's unremoveable baby in the backpack was the pinnacle of good writing ... Posted Image

BioWare has already done pregnancy in Dragon Age. The Dark Ritual + Witch Hunt?

What BioWare hasn't done is 'child rearing.'

As for having a child... it sounds like something I'd be interested in within a game. I suspect that it's content I wouldn't see on my first playthrough, however.

This was touched upon very briefly in another topic, so I figured I'd create another thread where we could focus on it!

How do you all feel about a possibility of seeing pregnancy in BioWare RPGs? Would you be indifferent about it? Would you like to be able to get your female LIs pregnant if you're playing a male (and having blue children as FemShep in ME I guess)? How about FemHawke and FemShep getting pregnant?

Discuss =)

(note: in case somebody thinks pregnancy has been confirmed in DA2 due to this thread, it hasn't, I'm merely curious to see people's feelings on the matter whether it's in the game or not)

I like the idea, it would not be the first game to have done this. Fable gave you kids, The Simis give you pregnancy and kids... I'm sure there are others I don't know about. I've been wanting to see a child from Liara or Ashley in ME3, assuming it was something they hid from you in ME2.

I would love to see it added, every action should have possible consequences after all.

Okay, to make this short:

Could we do player pregnancy? Sure.

Did we? No. Child-rearing is not one of the adventures you will embark upon.

Pregnancy does not make you 'out of shape.' I've known professional dancers who were able to perform a week after their delivery. As long as a woman has the proper level of nutrition, regular activity, and no medical complications, they can recover from labor very quickly.

That's not even counting non-warrior PCs. I see no reason why having a kid would weaken your fireball.

It just sounds like a really bad idea, both parents adventuring around? What if someone happend to both of you? Who would take care of the baby? If pregnancy IS a option gimme the option to stop adventuring and raise my kid. Being a dad would come first imo.

I suspected it would be too soon for them to include this idea. And I was also not so glad when this idea popped up again, because it attracts rather annoying people.

That's unfortunate, but understandable.

I had assumed my PC was ~25 when the story begins but maybe I'll bump her to ~21 or so.

Good, none of this condom wearing and safe sex stuff like in Fable,:P I'd get mad everytime I was ready to get my freak on and didn't have a condom on me, lemme just have sex and not worry about babies and all that.

The only thing is that since Hawke can have a multitude of diiferent apparences the child will most deffiantly take after the other partner. For the sake of simplicity.

If this was implemented it should be in near the end of the game and you should only be allowed one child in the game. (could say more in epilogue slides but as most people know there not always correct for later installments

Figured as much. They don't wanna spend budget for something optional so they can rush the game for release.

I'm actually kinda glad ^_^
having a mini me in tow or having left one back at the castle while i roam around isn't what i think of an adventure either. it also makes the main character a lot more vulnerable to attacks...

that and there are some npcs i can't imagine being a mother/father at all...

It depends on the pregnancy but some women can work and exercise regularly almost until their appointed date.
I however have to admit that fighting could be quite risky but when it isn't ....

what do you personally think of the idea(not pregnancy but motherhood and fatherhood in general), is it something to consider down the line for future installments in the dragon age series?
