As the topic title suggests. Here are my picks:

Image IPBImage IPB
Mark Hamill - Detective Frank Mosely (Gabriel Knight series). I was flabbergasted when I read his name on the credits. I had no idea it was him.

Image IPBImage IPB
David Warner - Jon Irenicus (Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn) Phenomenal performance. The excellent mix of malice and cold arrogance bring to life one of the greatest villains ever in games.

Image IPBImage IPB
Alan Blumenfield - Glottis (Grim Fandango) Absolutely hilarious. His voice acting is a big reason why Glottis was such a memorable character.

Image IPBImage IPB
Kristoffer Tabori - HK 47 (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) I've lost count on how many times I've laughed at Tabori's gleeful delivery of our favorite assassin droid's murderous exploits.

Image IPB
Jennifer Hale - Commander Shepard (Mass Effect 2) In the first game Hale was solid, but the sequel she ups her performance to new levels of awesomeness. Her Shepard is the perfect mix of authority, flirtatiousness, and humor.

Image IPBImage IPB
Martin Sheen - The Illusive Man (Mass Effect 2) It's a great testament to Mr. Sheen's abilities as an actor that TIM was able to sound charming and scheming at the same time.

Image IPB
Timothy Adams - Brucie Kibbutz (Grand Theft Auto IV) TAKE IT TO THE MAX! :P If his hilarious and over the top delivery doesn't stay with you, there's something wrong with you.

Image IPBImage IPB
Roger Craig Smith - Ezio Auditore da Firenze ( Assassins Creed 2) It's tough voicing a character who ages from his teens to his 40's, but Smith does it incredibly. Not to mention speaking all that Italian.

Image IPB
Josh Gilman - Mike Thorton (Alpha Protocol) It's too bad Alpha Protocol sucked. Had it been good, more people would have praised  Gilman's portrayal of his wiseass espionage agent.

Image IPB
Michael Ironside - Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell series) It''s no accident that this has become Ironside's most recognizable role.

Really? To me he sounded like an uncharismatic asthmatic with a gravelly voice from smoking a 100 a day, not to mention his voice sounded about 20 years older than TIM looked.

I think Steve Blum has to form most of my 'best' voice acting experiences, especially his character in Dawn of War 2. Then it's got to be Mark Hamill, but for Arkham Asylum.

Finally?
Sarah Hamilton as April Ryan. Best. Voice. Acting. Ever!

Alpha Protocol kinda rocked actually. And speaking of that game, it has a lot of good performances. Not sure on the voiceactors, but the performances for Leland and Marburg in particular were absolutely dead on.

Vampire Bloodlines was probably the best voiceacting overall in a game that I know. In particular, Jack and Therese/Jeanette were really great but it has a lot of good performances.

Kreia from KOTOR2 was great. Loved Kaelyn from Mask of the Betrayer.

Shodan from System Shock is definitely very memorable. Not only performance-wise, but they did a *fantastic* job on the audio of her voice overall.

Eh... I find Steve Blum to be a bit overrated. But I will admit, he amazed me in Mass Effect 2 playing Grunt. He sounded totally different.

Of course everyone is gonna praise Hamill's performance as the Joker. But I chose the Mosely bit because it didn't sound like him. It was a totally different voice he used, much like Blum for Grunt.

Kate Mulgrew - Flemeth(Dragon Age Origins) Wow. Who knew Captain Janeway could rock as a witch? :)

This.

Perfectly voiced by Terri Brosius, who also did some work on sound and level design and some writing for Looking Glass Studios, the creators of System Shock. She also voiced Viktoria in Thief and Thief 2.

Speaking of the Thief games....there's Stephen Russell, who did a fantastic job on voicing the player character of the series, Garrett.
He also was a part of the voicing of The Many from System Shock 2 (think they used 3 different voices for that), he voiced Harold in Fallout 3, and will apparently voice Booker DeWitt in Bioshock: Infinite.

Aaaand speaking of Bioshock...my favourite little Ferengi, Armin Shimerman, as Andrew Ryan!
(apparently he also voiced the Salarian councilor in the Mass Effects, I did not know that)

I'll leave it to someone else to mention Nolan North.

I was surprised by her performance here.  I thought she was completely irritating as Janeway who had almost no redeeming features, but she was excellent as Flemeth.

David Warner - John Irenicus is a clear winner for me.

Quite a few good performances in games to choose from though that is for sure.

If we're going for 'didn't sound like him' reasons, then Hamill's one of the best around. He's brilliant in Metalocalypse alongside Malcolm McDowell (Who always sounds like himself).

Blum's range is more limited - even Grunt sounds a lot like Blum. He's not got, say, Jen Hale's massive range, but his voice fits in perfectly with the style of a lot of games currently on the market - Especially Unreal Engine 3 titles. He was in ME2, he was in Arkham Asylum, the upcoming Bulletstorm game (Again, alongside Hale - Who sounds just like FemShep in it) and some others, all using the same engine and his voice goes perfectly with the art style. It sounds odd, but I think it's true.

"You scared the dick off me!" still makes me laugh.

Mark Hamill will always be great as the Joker he plays the role so well as does Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn.

Liam O'Brien as Akihiko in Persona 3

Ali Hillis as Lightning in Final Fantasy XIII i thought her performence was the standout in the game she gave the character a lot of life

Nolan North the voice of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series is a good shout. David Hayter's Solid Snake of the Metal Gear series.

Warner's Irenicus is up there with the best of them as you mentioned.

I also appreciate Wes Johnson for the many different voices he pulls off in both Oblivion & Fallout 3.

David Warner's John Irenicus was just awesome voice acting. Made the character probably the most memorable villain in any game I've played.

Some interesting ones in the OP. I thought the guy who voiced John Marston in Red Dead Redemption did an absolutely fantastic job. Actually, there are quite a few great roles that I feel too lazy to mention,

Tony Jay. His credits run extremely long (check out IMDB), but I remember him most disturbingly (and fondly) as the voice of the Elder God from the Legacy of Kain and Soul Reaver series. Still gives me the creeps. RIP Tony.
