The Black Emporium will be included in all copies of Dragon Age II including the Signature Edition, copies pre-ordered between now and launch, and copies purchased new in stores after launch.

The Lion of Orlais shield and the Fadeshear sword will be only available to players who pre-order Dragon Age II before launch. They are included in the Signature Edition.

Is this offer the same for those people who live in the U.K . I am asking this because on the play.com site that I preordered  my SE from, shows no info regarding this, unless they have not updated it yet?

I've preordered from amazon.co.uk and they are the same so I assume that 1) they are lazy or 2) they just haven't updated with the new information.

If all editions get the market..what's the point of including it as DLC? They even said retail versions will have that DLC. It all seems stupid to me. I can understand the DLC they state that they've "made for those who preorder" and those that don't preorder have to pay for this stuff. However, I think the market should just have been included on the disc.

This is how The Stone Prisoner/Shale DLC was, was free at first but it expired after a set time, where it then had to be purchased as DLC.  Why I believe I have also seen a May 20th date floating around in this thread.  Basically free DLC for those that buy the game at launch be it pre-order or date of release.

Awesome stuff. I'm really liking the sword and board.
On top of all the other stuff... so glad I got SE.

I think I'm gonna use the mirror only to change the hairstyle or the the beard. I'm not goning to change the facial structure, I'm going to make a good-looking Hawke from the start.

Same with me, I like the idea of my character changing his beard and hairstyle (or getting a few lines) every once in a while within those ten years. I'll try to roleplay my way around it by only using the mirror when a new act begins or that kind of thing. It's great that they implemented this feature and I suspect they might have done it because of all the talk on the forum about aging and being able to change your hair.

Its good that we get some bonus when we buy the game immediately after lunch, since I didnt pre-order because of portuguese stores being slow in the update, and that pre-ordering online didnt end well the last time I did it

Excellent. Thank you guys for all the cool free stuff.

Now my question is. I preordered Dragon Age 2 sometime in November or December with my local gamestop. That means that it automatically gets upgraded to the Signature edition and I get all the cool free stuff right?

Or did I have to order at the EA store or specifically ask for the collecters edition?

The DA2 SE is the collector's edition. Your preorder is been automatically upgraded in the SE after Jan 11th, and you'll get all the free bonus included in the SE ;)

Late to the party but -

I like this news. And am now a bit more ambivalent about the previous pre-order deadline and bonuses. I'm not sure what to make of this strategy overall...

Hmmm.

Anyway, yay mabari!

This is a feature I worked on and I'm glad to hear you are all so excited about it! :)

It's really great option to have, so thank you for taking your time to implement it Posted Image

To people worried you cannot modify the default Hawke appearance I will mention there is a fairly good selection of preset appearances you can base your modifications off of, you won't be left wanting.

Something related to this -- will the haircuts of the default Hawke(s) be available for player-made appearances? I wonder since DAO had few "custom" hairstyles reserved for companions or other NPCs, like Morrigan's or Duncan's hair e.g.

Awesome! I really like the new idea of providing "free" DLCs to those who purchase new.  Some may not like it, but I see it from your standpoint, if I do choose to buy the game used, it provides a way for you to still get some revenue from the used purchases.

On a similar note, I would like to thank you for NOT doing the preorder bonus(es) that where you purchased it matters.  While I can see where this is a bonus for the stores, it IMO hurts the consumer in the long run.  Like I just preordered a racing game and preordering direct from the publisher gets you a Shelby GT500 car, but those that preorder from Gamestop get a whole Casino area.  I would love to have BOTH, but as a Shelby car fan, that cemented my choice.  I hate having to miss out on the casino though.

EDIT: Wait.... I just read you get some special belt for preordering from Gamestop? Is this true? If so, GRRRR... you are doing it... please in the future reconsider this as I hate having to miss out on available content or be forced to order online from some store not in my area just because I prefer a preorder bonus!

Hopefully they'll fix it (haven't actually seen it), considering Mabari still are dogs, in fact I read somewhere what breed they were modeled after IRL... forget where though.

So, who's voicing the new dog? LOL

Perhaps that particular mabari is a result of union between war dog and war horse...

I have a questioln about the Mabari hound.  Will he be "exclusive" ?  For example, currently in Dragon Age Origins if you have more than one Ranger in the party, you are wasting skill points.    Only one "summoned" pet per party.  Will this be the same in DA2, or can each character have a summoned creature?

I dont know.. If there are other summons It may work the same way as in Origins.. Imagine if ranger spec was still in and your party was all rogue (which is actually possible due to Sebastian)  If they could all summon a Bear or Spider or whatever you would actually be controlling 8 party members at a time.. That would be crazy..

The full description of the Black Emporium sounds promising

An actual area to explore, looking forward to the "memorable" meeting with the proprietor
