That all sounds great! 32 hairstyles and 22 eye colors.First evening with DA2 - playing with character creator.
Now I'm curious how many preset faces there are for Hawke and how many different looks for your siblings. Because from what I understand Bethany/Carver looks we see now is only available with the Hawke’s default face.
There are the built-in presets and you can continue modifying your saved appearance from where you left off in character generation (this is where most of the work in making the mirror function came in.)

yay:D, just one thing that bothered me in origins on console character creator though (well, this and the beard/jaw problem)
on pc there was a beard transparency slider (ranging from 5'o clock shadow to full stubble) i believe but it wasn't present on consoles limiting us to full stubbles.
will there be one again for DA2? and if so is it on consoles as well?

Now for the good news: There are 32 hairstyles for female hawke (including the bald option), 36 for male hawke (the same number of unique models, but there are a couple more variations of peach fuzz texturing including male pattern baldness which makes no sense to have for females) and 17 beards.
I'd write something like "I want to have your babies" or "I must have died and gone to Heaven", but you see, that wouldn't quite be enough to express the amount of happiness and gratitude your post brought me.
Know that you have made a great many people deeply happy and satisfied, friend, and sleep the sleep of the just tonight.

(And shoulder-lenght hair for males!)
Y'know, this probably makes you the dev with the single highest "awesome news"/post ratio.

we have reached a consensus....you are Awesome. that is all
edit: for all who may be offended, the "we" is part of a quote from a bioware character, don't take it too seriously.:innocent:

could you also tell them that some of us really love women with long hair (i.e. past the shoulders) if it would be possible for them to make some down to the buttocks, knees, or floor i would so enjoy that. i think the longer a woman's hair is the more attractive she is.

With all that said and done I'm actually really impressed with how the default Hawke looks. For the first time ever in a Bioware game I will use the default face for my first playthrough.
Yeah, me too, first I liked it, then I got a bit put off by the slight underbite and.... british.... teeth, then I saw him smile with those teeth and was won over again, he's definitely no model but he's got the slightly rough look I think Hawke needs

Ahoy!
Hairstyles are limited to around shoulder length, this is a technical thing because the hairstyles cannot interfere with the various armor sets in the game.

As a proud owner of a tepid beard, the answer is simple: It's comfortable, saves time in the morning, and keeps the face warm in winter. Since I took the habit of growing it, I have had no need of a scarf. In Exile wrote...
That we have double the hairstyles, I am excited for that. Though to be honest, as a guy I have never understood how other men tolerate any facial hair above scruff.Beerfish wrote...
There were 17 female hair styles, 16 male hair styles, 13 beard styles (man and dwarf), and 11 eye colours from the toolset morph editor in DA1. I'm not sure if all of those were available for the 'in game' character creator. Thus there is much more choice it seems in DA2.
I do not recommend letting it grow on summer, though. Salt water and long beard do not mix well.
It was to be expected. After all, they have to have the collars/scarfs/jewelry on the neck to make the cut between face and body (for technical reasons, something about animation maybe?), and I'd guess it's a clipping nightmare with longer hairstyles.namedforthemoon wrote...

Well, that's too bad, but understandable. What makes it all better though is how the amount of hairstyles for both genders practically doubled.
I love spending plenty of time in the character creator before I start the story and with plenty more choices, it seems I will be busy for quite some time experiementing with different looks.
