And what about a Linux port? Or even a *bsd port? Since a Mac port means that the hurdle of Direct X is already gone, it should be possible to try to release a truly "PC" compatible game, is'n it? After all, "PC" is not a synonym for Microsoft Windows... Oh well, at least i can keep on daydreaming.

Now hopefully it'll take less than five months to port :P

Thanks so much for the thread. I've been scanning the forums for this. I pre-ordered it on console not to miss out, but hopefully I can cancel once I'm sure to get it for my Mac. With the mods and addons the replay value is a lot more fun on Mac, but I payed everything twice, which really wasn't great.

As a Mac user, I'm glad to DA2 is being released for Mac too. :)
Though I am actually getting it on a different platform.

Really useful to know it is coming for the Mac (I have DA and all add ons for mac already and love them!)

However now the questions are:

- When can we buy it?

- Will we get all the extra stuff that PC users got for pre-ordering quickly?

- Where do we buy/download it from?

I hope there won't be a delay as long as Awakening. That was almost five months, I believe

*cheers loudly* Too bad I already preordered for Windows, though. Ahh, dual booting, I love you.

Me too (getting it for xbox because I had no idea it would come to mac).

So, I have DAO on xbox too, but you guys who play it on the mac ... is the toolset ported too? Mac mods? Because at this stage that's the only reason I'd consider getting it for mac as well.

All mods for windows are applicable for Mac, due to the way Transgaming ports it. I'm not sure about the toolset itself, but there is an excellent download called Modazipin which makes mod installation for DAO a breeze on the Mac. I quite enjoyed playing DAO on my 15-inch Macbook Pro.

The more the merrier. We Mac gamers need to stick together. :D

Haha, yup. ^_^ I'm pretty sure it has to do with the way the port is done. Basically, all the Windows files are still there, just 'wrapped' differently. (Dig around in package contents, and you'll see c_drive and f_drive files.) This is why you can use Mac DAO savegames on Windows, or vice versa. Brightened my day when I found out, too.

ikr? Having spent an enormous amount of time messing with wrappers for mass effect, I can't believe I had no idea about this. I feel like the world's biggest moron.

I will buy for sure and my friends too, we all loved Dragon Age 1.

I'm also quitting WoW so i need a good fantasy game to play with it!

reading this thread makes me want to buy it for Mac too. although I doubt my MBP 5,3 will perform that well, not as well as bootcamp at least.

I got DAO for mac, thanks to this thread. Spent hours sorting through various mods. Am loving it. It's a completely different experience than on the xbox. Still getting used to the difference in combat (I'm also playing with a magic mouse, oh the lulz).

Got all the settings ramped up to max and not had any real problems so far (got a new imac this summer/autumn, so it shouldn't be posing a problem).

I've still got DAII SE pre-ordered for xbox, but I'll certainly look at the mac version down the line if the same deal with mods applies.

My 15inch Macbook Pro runs it well, not great. Hopefully it'll run DA 2 just as well.

Can anyone confirm if the download version on EA for the PC is also for the Mac since on the cover it states PC and Mac?

I don't see what you are talking about, but I don't believe so. We're going to have to wait for a good port
