At a guess, I'd say he was referring to the webserver setup and that BioWare 1) is not in charge of the master server, and 2) the implementation (and possibly legal matters) prevent the creation of a more direct method of deletion.

Keys aren't stored, you wouldn't have to uregister; but yes, you can. That alone wouldn't solve your problem, though, you would have to also be playing on that new account (you can transfer DLC but not your BSN account history). I do think it is technically possible to arrange it such that no one would be able to notice.

Well, my only guess would be that phantom screenshots still count against the limit while working screenshots do not. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to remove phantom screenshots. Can either of you confirm that we are indeed dealing with phantom screenshots?

We had changed the data synchronization process to start deleting screenshots from the online storage server when synching them to this site.  This was to free up space on the online storage server and give you the ability to store more files from the game.  But because this site can't synchronize or delete phantom files they still count towards your 50 file limit.

Wow, thank you for the update to this!  I confess I had a zillion characters ( all but two deleted now) and probably had quite a backlog plus was a bit of a screenshot nut.  I have learned my lesson and now save my screenshots to my drive.  :innocent:  A fix is *great* to look forward to.  I would love to be able to upload my characters again.  Hurray!

While I'm not having issues with the file limit at the moment, there are 3 phantom screenshots lingering in my online storage, as well. Used to be 2 a few weeks ago.

Just tested this by adding 3 manually uploaded screenshots which registered fine and were then removed from counting to the file limit.

The 3 phantom screenshots remained, though. So the problem is persisting, as it seems.

Yes, I don't think it has been fixed yet as I haven't seen an update.    I check a few times a week though. lol

Ok, tried to upload / reupload some more screenshots now and this time the update is absolutely weird.

The profile diagnostics now says I have 42 screenshots in online storage.

As it seems, most of them are "trying" to appear in my screenshot album, just that most of them show just as frames without pictures and others appear as character portraits or character profile pictures which don't even belong there.

I'm still hoping this will correct itself in the next hours / days, as currently, my online storage is at 50 files and full.

Gladly, my current character loaded up fine before this happened. Still, I'd like to add more chars, now.


Edit: By the way, I don't dare to delete the broken screenshots from my screenshot album, as I'm afraid that would mess the whole thing up forever and could perhaps cause the online storage to be stuck with the 42 screenshot files.

I still have 33 empty screenshot frames in my album, 42 screenshots pending to be cleared from online storage and I still am at the file limit of 50 files with just 2 characters uploaded.

I sincerely hope that this will not conflict with Dragon Age 2, because like it is now, I would have to delete one of the 2 chars just to be able to upload any Hawke at all.

I deleted some screenshots from my album, because they had nothing to do with my account. They showed up as character portraits, character profile pictures and even as screenshots from completely different accounts. Still, the given file names were part of the 42 screenshots that are waiting in online storage to be precessed.

Now, waiting for days, I wished I hadn't tried to upload more screenshots from within the game. A few days ago, there were 3 screenshots occupying space in my online storage... that was way better than how it is now.

My last hope is that there will be updates to the system when Dragon Age 2 is released or at least DA2 will be seperate from DA:O and will use it's own space and file limits.

I have the same problem, I have 7 phantom screenshots taking up space and I cannot delete them!

A while back, I noticed that my new character's portraits or Story XML files were not being uploaded to this site. I checked the Profile Diagnostics page and saw that I was over my file limit. According to that, I had 61 screenshots in my online storage. Naturally, I figured if I deleted the screenshots from my album, this would put be back under my limit and the rest of my character's files would be uploaded. This apparently is not the case. According to the Profile Diagnostics page, I still have 61 screenshots in my online storage. I know Jeff Rousell has said that they are working to resolve this issue, but that was about a month ago. Has anyone seen an update to this?

I'm glad you posted because with life the way it is these days in my world, I would have totally missed that if not for the email notification to this thread

Having this same issue. My original character and old screenshots won't delete, so my latest character won't upload.

83/50 files with 0 screenshots and 0 characters on my profile.

To those who posted recently: I myself have seen no change with DA:O files, I have not noticed a conflict with DA2 though as I am uploading characters and screenshots without issue. (Well, an issue being there is no way to delete those characters from the social site, but that is beside the point LOL)

So, there should be no worries about it affecting your DA2 characters at least. I am manually uploading screenshots to my albums as I have found no in-game way to do so.

previously i had 92...i deleted every character and every screenshot that was available for deletion...

but still....75 of 50 files
