I hope it is travel to our homebase.  That would make sense.  Thanks for your suggestion.

Edit: I now remember that time of day: night and day cycle is possible within Kirkwall. 

Our homebase is likely the home symbol in the  left area of the kirkwall map.

Speaking of spells, I think that the spell that adds speed to your party is going to return. I'ts just in the middle line of the Creation tree (green one), after the Heal spell.

That map looks freakin sweet. Skill trees look great too - hopefully they work great as well.



It really seems like we don't get our 6th companion until a later time skip since we havent seen any of the previews play him. I'm kinda hoping he remains a secret.



I might be alone in this, but I think I would also like a number of temporary companions that you get to know, but just join you for like a part or all of one time skip

The "tepee" icon stands for travel in the Free Marches, or so I assume after reading the text above. It say to use RT to select where do you want to travel: Kirkwall-day, Kirkwall-night, and the Free Marches.

It is good to see screenshots of places outside of Kirkwall. I was beginning to worry that the dev's claims of more vivid environments was false... Soooo pretty though!

yes

round=passive
square=activated
hexagonal=sustainable

The previewer only played the first five hours of game time. But if the only time a mage Hawke gets with Bethany is in that desolate wasteland previously seen, then I'm wrong. In that case it probably is "Anders". I don't see cutesy-wootsie Merrill as a blood mage.

I want to know who that big weepy man-in-a-skirt on the map is a statue of.

FemHawke looks ok. But a bit weird. Must be the chin. Again. Big jaw / chin.

Flemeth looks quite good... for her age.

The map is splendid.

They look to be console shots, but I can definitely see how some DX11 tesselation could make the environments look even better

Some cool screens though and the game is definitely looking much better with time, even though most of these screens seem to come from the console version and need some AA pronto.


I love how in this one it actually looks like you can see far off in the distance with not nearly as much fog like so many Origins environments.


And Flemeth's face looks much better here- I like the detail and wrinkles around her eyes and how it seems like her skin actually has some texture to it, unlike so many of the other recent screens where everyone had Sims 3 skin.

But Bethany gets killed in the Blightlands, and that place looks very much unblighted. And... I dunno. It'd just seem silly to have a plot hook introduced that way and then abruptly cut off with Beth's death. The small matching clues and my voodoo tell me that Merrill is a much more likely candidate. Still, anything is possible at this stage considering the very small amount of info we have on the identity of the blood mage.

I hope these screens are the real deal and not doctored...

The characters look good. The top-down shots look nice as well. There's still some bad, low-res textures, but at least it looks bearable here. Hopefully playing the PC version on DX11 will rectify some of that. Still, the game sems to look significantly better than it did in the last dev diary. On console shots, too!

And LadyHawke's eyes are just gorgeous.

I might be over thinking this but I'm no longer as jazzed about playing a mage. I already had my reservations with the reduction of specializations to only Blood Mage, Spirit Healer, and "Force Mage." Since I have very little information to make a truly informed decision, I'll still play as a mage I'm just not looking forward to it as much.

*sigh* I LOVE her eyebrows. This shot is so clear that it's definitive proof of what Mike said. Somewhere in Ferelden, butter is melting, and poor Carver has nothing to put on his toast...

Seriously, I know she's a default, but she's one I'd actually consider playing. That's a true first for me in games where I can choose. But I can't resist a good character creator, so it might not be my first playthrough. Still, if the rest of the hairstyles/eyebrows/etc. are 75% as good as that, I'll be quite happy.

OMG! Ok, now I cannot wait to get it. I specially liked the fact that according to how you customize your Hawke, your family will resemble him/her. THAT is awesome. If you look at my avatar, I had this whole story in my head I was an adopted Cousland. haha~ I just didn't look like any of my family members.



Yeah that is sounding awesome, as well the import of DAO files. The major 2 decisions of the game will matter in a small way I guess in DA2.



Also, Lady Hawke is gorgeous. Look at those eyes.
