Did the Overlord DLC move you/impress you as much as it did me?

they fixed the issue in lotsb, as your squadmate didn't talk, but liara did, which was plenty good enough. i expect that they will stay to this formula for the next dlc, which will feature another squaddie(like VS or some outside person).

The ending was interesting. Overall it was better than any random assignment in the vanilla game.
That is certainly true, but it was also not very difficult to create a mission better than those in the main game. That said, the writing was okay but nothing special, there was too little interaction with NPCs, too much pew-pew, the exploration part still felt too much like a conveniently designed level for a video game and less like actually exploring a planet, the Hammerhead is a bad joke in comparison to the Mako. The Overlord DLC doesn't come close to BdtS, much less to LotSB.

But yeah I liked it. Especially that one thing that I can't say since this is in general discussion
Its in the spoilers section its ok.
And yeah I thought the ending was powerful even my pro human renegade Shepard had to save the guy from his brother.

Please Bioware, give team mates a say in these missions. Just because it's DLC doesn't mean that our team mates should stand silent most of the time. Too me, the DLC expands the story, universe and overall gameplay of Mass Effect. Whenever the other characters interject in a conversation it feels as if the whole party is involved, whereas in the DLC they don't say anything which is a let down and I feel as if I'm the only one there.

My only complaints I can think of off the top of my head are: too much Hammerheading about (though I'm sure I'm the only one who thought so) and the utter silence of the squadmates. Seriously, when Shepard gets jacked by the VI and the teammates are banging on the door that's locked behind him, it just looked bad to not have them saying stuff like "Shepard?! Shepard!!!"
As for spotty dialogue, ME and ME2 have always, to me, seemed to feature moments of sheer genius writing and moments of subparness. Can't remember how much of which I saw in Overlord, but whatever the ratio it was tolerable at worst and enjoyable at best.

I think the ending of Overlord made me angrier than I've been for a long time at anything in a video game. I was FURIOUS. Spitting livid. I wanted to cap Archer then and there.

This. I was morally outraged by it. And Tim's email after made me mad too. God I hate Cerberus.

Beyond that love, love, love the twist there at the end and I was completely paranoid the whole geth ship trip because I brought Legion with me I deliberately kept both he and Tali w/ me sense I knew this was a tech mission and I thought hey why not take two techs with me!
I was actually expecting Legion to get hacked and turn on me or for the geth’s inside the ship to pounce mid mission. The gun outside was alittle hard before I realized all I had to do was sit there wait for red and gun it across the plan and narrowly avoid the nuke. Then it was interesting, I like the big explosion I just didn’t like having to do this part of the mission in my hover craft I would’ve preferred the mako then I could’ve turned w/o falling off the cliff and things like that the thing just skids like it’s on ice on turns.
The resolution factor of it I don’t know saving David was great but I would’ve loved to at least beat Archer half to death my para shep was really upset by the events that got him down there. He deserved more then a punching some severe pistol whipping would’ve help my anger issues with him.
Some things I wish they would’ve explored more was in my opinion your minds where joining the digital you saw and the Normandy to me where both signs your minds where linking in a very geth like way but Shep couldn’t confirm or deny this and no worry, shock, anger or all from him at being possessed. I also wanted Tali and Legion to talk not just to each other but to shep total silence. I tried to leave the armless robot alive and expected her to say something smart about it but she just shot it, what was it going to do kick me to death? Those two where very trigger happy and comments through out like, “ I hate this place,” or “ Damn AI’s taking over everything,” would’ve helped me gauge their level of anxiety.
For immersion I loved the music sometimes its total silence then a blaring soundtrack that’s all warped comes on I remember at one point say, “ This is going to make me hate classical music for a while.” it definitely helped unnerve me more. The water was great looking (even more in SB) I loved the shadows and how they served to make the area seem not only real but add to the creepiness of the place it didn’t seem dark for the sake of being dark it was just right. Outside in the field zone loved the trees, grass, and water falls I just wish I could’ve explored that valley below.
I didn’t like how outside thought I had like 5 paths kinda hidden sure but they where still like roads leading me to station A - H if I just picked a path and stayed on it. I think they wanted to give back that ME exploration feel but I didn’t feel that after the second station I caught on to the fact I didn’t find this I was lead to it and was disappointed I felt like the corridor shootout once again and made the world out here feel really boxed in. I missed not being able to go into the mountains on sheer will if I had my mako I would’ve made the attempt to go up and down those mountains that’s for sure. I also didn’t like when I got to those stations I couldn’t go inside and explore them they where just a place I killed things and moved on.
Overall I would love to see more horror into the series perhaps some strange side quests that could relate to the main quest the mine with all the husk in it wasn’t horror for me I thought after reading the , “ get out” memo that it would’ve been but having a bunch of husk wasn’t scary just overwhelming me in sheer numbers.
BW can I have the option to nuke the Cerberus base and retire/live on that world in 3? And while I’m not that topic no emails from where I put David I want to re meet him and even though his speech isn’t normal (w/o giving it away) I’d like to physically meet him and he gives us a key coordinates to get my very much wanted prothean super weapon! I don’t know his knowledge of numbers should aid in some way for the upcoming fight.
EDIT: The way they wrote, allowed time, and implemented this it didn't feel like a sidequest it was a mission.

Yes I expected that dialogue sense I had Tali w/ me and she was my girlfriend! Also Legion could've informed her shep was jacked I mean I figured it was obvious he/she was but a form popped up asking on the subject and some people believe he/she was only sightjacked into seeing the wired world? Siren did sight jacking where you can literally look through anothers eyes but what Overlord did was not sight jacking it was jacking period. Also while on this topic we should've had on ship discussions at least w/ those we chose to accompany us on the mission but it was silent from them all?

It was interesting enough, though the silence and disconnect between it and your team members was a tad jarring, and.. well. It might not be really all that fair, but it felt like I spent half of Overlord basically thinking "eh, System Shock 2 did it better."
(The other half being the one I spent going Weeeeeeeeeeeee Hammerhead!)

The ending was fantastic, love the additional dialog you get when taking Legion, nice touch.
Leaving the kid in the hands of Cerberus is cold, but I love the way the renegade Shep backhands the professor. All round awesom.
LotSB is just as good, the music on both really turns the missions up a notch in the world of epicness.
The visuals when shepard gets 'hacked' are fantastic

Still though the beauty the artists did with the scenery was something else and I found myself enjoying the story side.
The Shadow Broker DLC is also quite enjoyable, and I'm glad to see that they are working in some more effects to give players some feeling to the scenery, smoke, fires, flickering lights, lightning, wind effects with physics (ok I admit some of this stuff was in other parts of the game!) . . . *Thumbs up! - Applause!* These are part of the story element, and I hope BioWare continues to push the boundaries and use these things to enhance the story.
Edit: Argh I guess I should say with Overlord, I didn't like the platform hopping part. . (Yes yes I made it though with out dieing on 'hard' difficulty - dam MG gun turrents were nasty tho!) But using gas jets to jump from here to there was bleh to me, had that old arcade feel to it. Overall story still gets a big thumbs up! And it gets exploration points too!

There's a lot more bodies going to suffer. Does anyone really think that Cerberus would quit in the face of difficulty when David proved what was possible? Even the post-mission TIM email doesn't give any sign that they were shutting down the project, only that you set them back by decades. And who wants to guess what those decades will include and be filled with?

I found it depressing that the end-game choice really amounted to 'Keep the poor boy in, or take him out in the knowledge that Cerberus will just try to do the same thing to plenty of other autistic kids until they finally find someone else compatible.'

As did I. I ended up going with the Renegade option as I felt the project was far too important to just shut down, but the fact that I didn't think Cerberus would give up was a motivating factor for going with the Renegade option as well.
Though, if you sold Legion, no need to worry about that. In Lair, the Legion dossier mentions that Cerberus was able to create some kind of device from Project Overlord and are trying to install it into Legion.
