So I can't enter the tower after talking to the main guy at the enterence of the tower,but the gate won't open. I've looked online and it says if I answered a certain way I wont be able to get in the gate and I cant continue the story....Is this true? Because I dont understand why a game thats been out for this long still has a glitch that forces you to restart the whole story after 20 hours hasn't been fixed....

Clarify where precisely you are and who you talked to. Are you referring to Carroll and the boat, or Greagoir?
Does what you read state it is a bug? Can you just reload? (The closest us console players have to a fix.) And if so, could you choose the appropriate option to avoid the problem (as you now know what apparently triggers the problem)?
If you are just lamenting about the lack of a new patch...then, yes, you're not alone in that.

I had trouble with Greagoir, the guy inside the tower after you enter it...But I can't reload it because of after I talked to him I left and did the Dwarf quest. And I dont have any saves before it. So it seems unless I can find a way around it I have to restart?

You sided with him and the Templar's after he mentioned the right of annulment? You need to talk with him again and tell him that some mages must've lived, That should allow you to continue as you would normally..

Sorry I forgot to say that I cant start the quest because of this. He wont let me in the doors.The option to talk to him about the mission disappeared. I found the article on Dragon Age wiki that sounds like I have the same problem, but I dont know if they patched it and I cant start the quest.I've talked to everyone around the tower and in it.Here is what the wiki page says:

If you end your first conversation with Greagoir with "I must think about the right course of action," then talk to him again and end the conversation with "I must give this some consideration," he will not offer any more dialogue choices that allow you to access the tower when you talk to him again. The door will be closed and you will be unable to complete Broken Circle and therefore the game. (Encountered in Xbox 360 version, possibly present in other versions as well.) "
