Heres a pic from the IGN preview which gives us the full list (icons only) of all nine mage trees. I've listed which are which (based on semi-guess work so don't count them as fact).

Posted Image

Awsome potential confirmation of the six 'basic' and three specilazation trees.

Six basic trees top two levels and specilization bottom level.
I
remember a dev somewhere said you start off with the basic spell in
every tree and specilty points unlock the basic spell of one specialty
tree (also hinted at by the picture - all top six basic spell unlocked,
bottom three all locked).

Top Left                     Top Middle                 Top Right
Ice/fire                        Earth/Lightning         Entropy

Frosty Icon above     Earth First Icon           Death/Skull icons
Fire icon below

Middle Left           Middle Middle              Middle Right
Spirit                     Arcane                           Creation

Guess                    Crushing Prison         Heal Icon
                                 near top end

Bottom Left         Bottom Middle           Bottom Right
Force Mage         Spirit Healer              Blood Mage

Guess based      Similar Color/Icon    Bloody Hand
on given info

This is my interpretation of the mage trees.

It looks pretty cool actually, especially how you can see all of the trees at once.

Thoughts, opinions, think im an idiot and misnamed the trees :) discuss

Edited: fixed my slight dyslexia

And for those worried about the number talents we can spend in each tree, I think upgrades are not visible on this tree for whatever reason. Maybe they popout when you mouse/scroll over the spell icon?

Maybe i'm out of it or something, but don't you have the locations of the spell trees backwards? Isn't Ice/Fire supposed to be 'Top Left' and so on?

So are the bottom ones are "prestige" class magic or you could put talents in 'em from the start?

Overall it is't bad, but still looks like developers did put their rpg system on rigorous diet.

Ya bottom three are 'prestige' classes.

And If your worried about the number of talents you can spend in each tree, dev's have confirmed 10 points each. So what you see isnt the entire tree (we can't see the upgrades for one reason or other). So they have fewer spells than DAO trees but each spell has more customization, so all in all similar amount of pointes per tree. But they also got rid of spells that do the same thing, so there aren't necessarily fewer different spells, just fewer, but more unique, spells.

In the combat video, we see Death Syphon, Spirit Bolt, and Walking Bomb used by Bethany. In a russian video, we see that the Arcane school contains the telekinesis spells. The middle left is Spirit and the middle is Arcane.

Hm, so I guess we have gone from 84 spells/upgrades in Origins, including the specializations, to 50. Or 41, if the big ones are just labels and not actual spells. Unless those aren't all of the spells available.

Like i said previously the Upgrades arent listed (Devs have confirmed 10 talent points per tree and we cna only see 6ish) so the upgrades you can probably only see when scrolling over the spell icon. So we went from 84 to 90 (10 per tree * (6 basic trees + 3 spec trees).

and @Andar91 I see something that looks like crushing prison in the middle tree and I'm sure thats spirit, So I'll just leave it saying it doesnt know which tree is which but the Left and Center on the middle row are Spirit and Arcane (don't know which is which). And I guess It'll stay that way till we learn more. Or a dev decides to post :) <- wishful thinking.

Oh I see, my bad then. It's also my bad that I miserably failed at counting, and should have said 56 and 47. I hang my head in shame.

Yep, that is the "less is more" design concept.

I'm not at all convinced the spell upgrades will be equally useful based on the power upgrades in Mass Effect 2.

For the last spell of the fire/ice tree and the lightning/earth tree, they look like they'll be a combination of two elements in one spell. Notice how the elements branch off to their own path, then merge together at the end. It's almost like the two elements are combining to make the last spell, hence the snowflake inside the fire symbol and the lightning striking the cracked earth. Can't wait to see how those spells will look like, since they sound very cool in concept =)

What is the difference between a square, circle, diamond, and hexagon?

I know we talked about this earlier.

I would guess the squares are just spell school labels. We know the diamonds are actively cast spells and hexagons are sustainables. I'm guessing the circles are upgrades?

If that's the case, forget about my theory about having combo-elemental spells in my last post. If the circles are passives, it'll make sense for the last two spells of the elemental tree do stuff like "improve damage" or "decrease casting duration", etc.

Still, it still sounds pretty cool having a spell with two elements combined B)
