I actually haven't bought any DLC for ME2 yet, but what happens with the DLC if you reinstall the game? The Steam version...

How would I get my DLC back?

You download it from this site

Click on Profiles -> Registered game promotions.

So the idea would be not to fully delete it from your system once youve installed it. Back up the install file to another folder or cd/dvd, and keep it handy in case you haev to reinstall for any reason.

You will be given the option of keeping saved games and settings during the uninstall process, so not so much worry about those, although I still recommend backing those up, just to be safe.

i really don't understand this Activation On line thing.

I had to jump through quite a few Hoops to get here,

and All i wanted to do was play the game.

I entered the Product Key, and then got leed to some other registration website

where i had to Activate my game, by Inputting the key again.

It said to get Extra content, But the Key only registered the game for activation.

I did not get this PromoCode. so i don't get the extra content if any.

Now i'm registered maybe i can get some help with this

The first time i played Tried to play the game, Nothing but problems

It would not run.

But the Demo Of ME2 run like a dream,

It was very fast and just perfect.

The full version, I paid for, was so much trouble to Get it to run.

I can run the game now, I have managed to configure the game to run.

But i Want to know about the Promo Registation Code.

How do i Get it??

I have 2 product activation Keys, One is for the game,

the other is ON-Line gaming.

I dont understand anything right now.

And there are too many Security Problems

You must do this, and you must do that

In the old days, All you needed was to Install the game,

Put in the activation Key and away you go

Now they collect information about what we use

who we are,

the know more about me than Big brother

Its crap

So I can just save the DLC file to a flash drive or DVD just in case I have to reformat my PC completely?

That's what I was asking. So like you said, I can just get it off this site as long as I have the keys registered with my EA account?

I think I have the same trouble as you.

From what I understand, to get the DLC we are supposed to first: register here (social network?!)

Then register mass effect 2 key and after that use the cerberus network redeem code on this page http://social.bioware.com/page/me2-dlc, and dowload something.

I guess my mistake was start this procedure throught the "connect to cerberus network" in the game instead of here, since I haven't been able to download anything and the "redeem code" procedure tells me my key has already been used and cannot serve twice.

So eventually, I have a Bioware account with ME2 registered and the cerberus laptop in the main menu is open, but I can't get the Free DLC working.

Same as you?

@ebevan: Yep. Just download straight from here, run the installer file, it autofinds and installs the DLC. It will still run and install from whichever flash or dvd drive you back it up to.

@malmaoo: ME2 doesnt have online gaming. Its a single player only game. What online gaming activation are you talking about?

So, if I already HAD DLC and had a PC wipe (and no I didn't backup my stuff unfortunately X__X) Do I get the DLC that I already paid for back? Do I have to buy it again?

You don't have to back it up, as long as you don't mind re-downloading the DLC from this site. Obviously, we are talking about several gigs worth of stuff if you own it all, which might be a problem for anyone with bandwidth limitations.

You can't just save or transfer the DLC files. You must save the installer --- moving the files from the DLC folder within the ME2 program files won't be enough.

Would you happen to know off the top of your head how big Overlord, Kasumi, and the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLCs are in file size? Would they fit onto a standard (single-sided, single-layer) 4.7GB DVD? I tried finding the file sizes on the internet but had no success in doing so.

Thanks Bogsnot1! It has been a while since I played the game and my hard drive crashed.  I knew it had to be hidden somewhere!
