In the Dev Diary one of the last questions the Dev puts out there is what makes Hawk special that allows him to become the Champion of Kirkwall. He lays out does Hawk have some kind of power that no one else has or does he have some kind of political power... I think he may have said it.

I think the 'special' power Hawk has will be based on the class that we pick. For a mage I think Hawk will have access to some powerful magic that only his family has and can tap into. If Hawk's a non-mage than maybe his family's nobility comes into play. Maybe the king we see Hawk talking to is willing to give an army for Hawk's cause because of his nobliity (Being a mage-Hawk he wouldn't be seen as a nobility because of Chantry law)

What do you think Hawk's 'special' power is? Or do you think his special power is that he's the PC and because of that his life by default is simply better than everyone elses? Posted Image

I hope we don't have some special power. I don't want to be "the chosen one".

Just an ordinary guy, with extraordinary problems.

My Kamina Hawk will need no special powers. He is going to be a dude with ordinary abilities that becomes a legend by sheer power of will... as in his will power will be legendary...

Hawke does have a top secret special move called "Jazz Hands" that paralyzes his/her enemies for three seconds yet only has a four second cooldown. It could be game breaking. I will try to hide now, having given away this secret before the Bioware ninja assassins come and get me.

I'd prefer that too. But the way that guy was strongly hinting made me believe that there may be something 'special'.

I kinda would prefer if Hawke was just a normal woman, who became a hero out of necesity, not because it was easy or destined.

Hawke is really the Ranger from Quake and he has the ability to use slipgates into other dimensions, this game will be about how they manifest this power

Hate to say it, but I don't think Flemeth would save Hawke's rear if there was nothing special about Hawke and/or their family. That's not the same as being the chosen one. The Warden was also special.

It's the Dance Fighting skill tree, which, of course, includes Jazz Hands. Of course, Shuffle-Step-Kick-Ball-Change is an AoE ability... :P

I rally don't think that he has any kind of ability.

I seem to remember a dev openly wondering who nobody had made a big fuss about Hawke's blue glowy hand power yet. There's definitely something going on there.

It'll be probably be something like what Shepard has. He has knowledge of an ancient alien race inserted in his head. It doesn't give him special powers. He just has something no one else has that everyone wants.

Hawke might be the same. She might get something that'll make her seem unique among the people, but she'll still have to earn her place in the halls of badassery. Maybe something like she's immune to the darkspawn taint or she can sense old gods, I dunno.

Please refer to the destiny trailer. I'd say he definately have some bhaal spawn-esque power going on there, especially since now we know there's no arcane warrior, and no giant flaming hands icon in the mage's skill tree.

It was mentioned that Mages now get finishing moves.

maybe thats what the flaming hands move is; just a finishing move.

It's possible, but if all those fancy moves Hawke was showing off during the trailer count as melee attack with staff then I'm not even going to consider making a warrior anymore :P
