Hawke has a beard Chuck Norris would be jealous of. All of Thedas will bow to the superiority of the beard!!

motion capture needed for a maxed out dance-fight hawke

Was there ever a confirmation on whether the bard abilities for a rogue were staying at all? And what animations they'd get?

I'm sceptical about the whole red glowing eyes and demon arms thing. The warden's eyes released blue glowy smoke in one of the trailers. I have yet to see any of my warden's do that.

The wardens in the game were straightedge. The one in the trailer was actually in rehab- all those videos we saw were made under influence. The darkspawn were people from the clinic and the high dragon was th counsellor(sp??). Now you know why he released blue smoke from his eyes. :P

Warden's calling was when he decided to check himself in again but had cold feet at the clinic's entrance.

True... I just made a post in the "Mage Abilities" topic, commenting that one of the Blood Magic spell icons almost looks like a blood splatter with intact arms. Said arms, perhaps, causing the blood splatter? Basically, I think it might be a Blood Magic technique.

The Mamushka is bard Hawkes special move. He needs a fellow rogue to do it with and must be a dual wield build. Enemies will be mesmerized for the length of the dance and the daggers will pass through all enemies between the two rogues.

Bard special move

This move is the reason why the rogue was given such acrobatic abilities in combat in DA2.

I don't know if this is anything close to what the devs were thinking, but it'd be cool if you had various opportunities to ACQUIRE powers during the game, for instance you can become the leader of the templars, or a blood mage who knows ancient techniques, or any number of interesting things.

To me, this would be the most interesting meaning--that you can find stuff, and choose how/whether to use it or not.

True, but blue smoke coming from glowing eyes don't rip Qunari soldier apart and I always thought that was just the taint.

Personality, maybe? I mean, 'normal' people can possess extraordinary character that could enable them to rise to power, as it were. At least that's my impression of Hawke - not that he/she may have any superpower, but more like... willpower?

My Warden took over Hawke's body using Flemeth's magic (after he went back in time to lothering after killing the archdemon), since he was tainted, that's how he got his omgwtfpwn power.

It would also explain his apparent sudden disappearance.

I'm surprised no one said his power is his beard yet.

Hawke is just a kid with a giant sword, an attitude problem and the weight of the world on his shoulders. And a beard. A big badass mofo beard.

That 'ripping qunari' part looks like Varrick's personal contribution to the story.
So the 'special power' could be anything, as long as it irritates Cassandra

Actually I think its just magic. Though hawke is using blood magic to cast it presumably because he ran out of mana. I think the 'rip things apart with huge psychic hands' was teh finishing move for Crushing Prison.

My Kamina Hawk will need no special powers. He is going to be a dude with ordinary abilities that becomes a legend by sheer power of will... as in his will power will be legendary...

That really freaked me out when I read it since I read it as Kamin Hawke. That's my real first name and I was like 'Holy ****?! ANOTHER Kamin?".

On a note relating to this topic, I'd prefer Hawke just be like anyone else without anything special about him. It would make becoming the most important character in Thedas much more satisfying, knowing that I'm just an ordinary person, just with potential.

He has the godly power of load savegame. KNEEL MORTALS!!!

But seriously, I am guessing he is just a great warrior/mage with leadership ability.  We don't know yet whether he will have any unique power that no one else does.

Haven't they already confirmed it was NOT blood magic?

It was varric's exaggeration more then likely.

I hope it's not some special power only he has.

I thought on this a while back (beginning logical inquiry, please don't flame). In origins Wynne commented that the children of mages are almost always mages. That being said, it seems unlikely that Hawke's father would have managed two children who were "normal". Under this consideration is it not feasible that warrior hawke or rogue hawke could have a very limited, very focused selection of spells? This would balance with mage hawke apparently being a skilled martial artist.

Don't forget the Moonwalk! :D

Or Hawke is secretly.... Doomguy.
Well, now THAT makes him special.
