Trying to figure this one out for about a good 3 days with no luck.
Here's what I've got:
There are 2 players (Me and the person running the server). We are in West Harbor. When we try to leave it says this:
Loading X out of 44 areas.
After this (my friend has a slightly faster computer and gets to the next screen faster than I do) it says:
Unpacking Module
Loading Area
Area Loaded
Phase 1 of Area Updates
Now before I finish that last part my friend is already on the overworld map before I can even get to it. Once I finish with the above information, it then proceeds to freeze my friend's game because I am the leader of our party (he can't move but he can access inventory and the like) and then it says I joined the game (even though I was already in it)
It then continues to say Waiting on 1 out of 3 players to load. For whatever reason. Not sure considering there are only 2 of us.
It just stays at this screen, and never loads. Not sure what to do.
This is the Steam version, so it's been patched fully.
Waiting on players to load

Can you assign party leadership to him before transitioning?

Found the problem (sort of), my computer is too slow and it doens't load the overland map fast enough. When it tries to catch up, all hell breaks loose.
To be honest, this is a ridiculous problem. The game should recognize that there are different computers. I figured this issue by letting a friend get into the server that has a faster computer and he has no problems. So it's something to do with my excessive load times.
Regardless my computer can RUN the game, it's load times are just longer than the person running the server. Is there any mods that anyone knows of that could streamline this issue?

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I have no issues in the original campaign mind you and my computer is fast enough to run the game, just not to keep up with my friend's computer. Is there some sort of modification that will keep all people loading at same rate or let other's catch up?

There isn't anything you can do if your hardware can't keep up with what seems to be a faster/newer system.
It's pretty unrealistic to blame this one the game FYI IMO TMA.
About all you can do is make sure that the person with the "best" system and fastest upload speed on their internet connection is the one running the server application.
To that end, it might help if you posted system specs and respective connection speeds, on the off chance that some suggestions might come of that.
