Ok i have now seen quite a lot of ppl complaining about the sexual arearing in ME2, especially Miranada, Jack and jacob.

I'd like to know if you dislike them, if you ignore them(aka thinks its ok) or think its "realistic". Leave a comment with your thoughts.

Personly im between ok and realistic, since its a RPG, and sexual apearance is a natual part of our world. Ofc its not realistic that mirand fights in the cloths she does, she should have some sort of armor, but i think its ok/nice that they have that outfit at least on the ship, like shepard changes clothing, so should Miranda.

Jack is a pure biotic so i think its more realistic that she isn't using armor.

The topic is officially over and an agrement has been reached:

Ok it looks like we have reach
an agreement.. The skin-showing clothing and "personal" clothing is ok
and all that, but belongs to The Normandy part of the game. Besides
that, sqaudmates should be wearing armor when in battle, some of us even
think biotics should, while some of us disagrees.

The topic is officially over and closed, but you're free to keep discussiong and go off topic.

It'd be excusable through 'it's an RPG' if it wasn't for the fact that the series itself tries to be logical and produce plausible science. In terms of sense even for a science-fiction setting, it's about as stupid as when Neo started using super-powers outside of the Matrix.

Also, I'm pretty sure that you didn't read the Codex given your comment about Jack and her biotics.

All the "inappropriately" clothes squaddies are biotics. biotics can produce a biotic barrier to protect them from jsut about anything inclding space, since barriers are mass effect fields that distort space. The non-biotic crewmates aside from Kasumi and Tali are all hardsuited up but Kasmi and Tali wear full body suitsand Kasumi's is built for stealth not guerilla warfare. If I already had a biotic barrier protecting me I'd probably wear some PJ's into combat if Shepard would let me.

Oh, look, another person who neglected to read the Codex. Protip: Biotic barriers can't keep out radiation, temperatures or the crushing pressure of zero-gravity. Nor do they protect from a lack of oxygen seeing as they do not trap it within themselves like a bubble.

Wait, what?, there are sexual outfits in ME2?.

I can still hear Miranda saying "does my bum look big in this outfit" and I want to reply "It's not the outfit", I digress.

I'm in agreement with Gleym, but we know sex sells and that's the real reason behind the sexy outfits, nothing to do with RPG.

It doesn't make sense when you consider that the writers of the series have always tried to imbue the IP with a sense of "reality". The jump from having mandatory hardsuits in ALL hostile environments to wearing skintight suits, sleeveless combat armor and even the occasional nipple harness is about as jarring as seeing Master Chief take his helmet off in the vacuum of space... because he felt like he could see better without it. :pinched:

The sexual outfits don't fit with the hard sci-fi style of the IP, and one thing I just can't be happy with is an IP that has an identity crisis; especially when the first game did so much better at being what it was, and avoided such contradictions.

So yeah, I really REALLY dislike the sexual outfits. Especially Jack's. I know it might be in-character and all, but if Shepard can don combat armor during missions, then so can she. They don't have to be in their PJs all the time (and they don't have to wear their combat armor while they're on the Normandy ALL the time, either).

@Gleym.

Yes i have read all the codex posts, and you misunderstood my POV of why Jack as a fully biotic don't need armor. From my POV biotics are ppl who tend to stay behind, and not being on the front line, hens not using shotguns nor assault rifles, therefore armor should not be needed and are only a pain. Compare it to archers in the medieval. They weren't wearing heavy armor since they weren't suppose to fight head on with the enemy. And i only like that they try to keep some of our science logic, as its not very likely that we will find other theories that are more accurate then those we already have. I think no1 would actually play a game that has NO relation to the reality what so ever, and sexual look and physic laws are rather "normal" things to put into ME if you ask me.

@DJBare

no there are no such things, that should only be if you "romance" Kelly.

What im talking about is how Miranda and Jack are dressed, and a lot of ppl find that inappropriate for some reason.

Edit: WhoopsI meant I agreed with Khayness!

Damn you rapidly moving forum! *shakes fist*

I mean really it was ridiculous. Armor can be sexy without going over the top BioWare.

They don't really bother me that much, but I really would have prefered to have them wear customizable armor as shep does when in combat. ME1 did that part better tbh. They can wear whatever on the ship but it would've looked better with at least some kind of armor during missions imo.

WoW! RP dilema if you ask me... Take Jack with my on a mission? Naah, she would highten my chances of succes and survival, but she looks ugly ans scary in that outfit, so i'll just die a few times first...
Bad RP if you ask me :whistle:

Also i agree, Mirandas accent is pretty nice, but htat's not why i bring here ALWAYS. That's mostly bc she is one of the best squadmates no matter what class you're playing. And she is pretty nice/cute too. After Keep liara as LI from ME1, cheating on Ashley(hate her anyway) to get Tali or Miranda is my favor thing :P

I don't think you really understand... Jack's outfit IS that bad. Some people would rather keep her out of view if it means their immersion breaks less for them. I know there are people who don't mind the outfits, but they're actually pretty weird for Mass Effect. Especially when you consider that almost EVERY enemy you face actually wears fully-protective gear.
