I have played the game before on my PC. I far exceed the system requirements for the game. After I type in the Registration code and click the next tab key, I get a message that the intallation of the game has been cancelled and I should go to the MassEffect setup file on the cd and load the game from there, which I have done now 3 times.and I still get the same problem. I did have a bad virus on my system a few weeks back which was taken care of. I have no problems with any of my other games or utility programs. I would like to replay the game from the begining where I make all paragon choices.  (.I like playing the good guy.) and move the story line on to MassEffect-2 which is loaded and running fine on my system. Any suggestion on what I can do would be great.--Rick

This is going to sound stupid, but here goes



I've have recently reinstalled on a machine that had played it before, I ended up getting the same error you describe, After two days of reading these forums,scouring the web, and trying every single fix I could find.



I swapped a dvd drive for one i had just laying here and bam , it installed perfectly. The old drive I put back in afterward shows no other problems with any other game except this installer.



I would suggest trying it if you have an extra one laying about, before you start doing registry/ini edits and that whole ball of fun.
