Hi all :)

very important question:

The Wiki means:

The Dragon Age Toolset installer comes with several pieces of third-party software that are needed for the toolset to function. They are:

    * DirectX 9.0c
    * Visual C Runtime Library
    * Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005 Edition
    * Nvidia PhysX drivers

does it means I cannot install the Toolset if I have a Radeon?
Must I have a Nvidia GeForce  :o to install the Toolset ?

cheers

Your graphic card obviously supports DirectX 9.0c already, your card can only go up to DirectX 11.

No I don't think you need a Nvidia GeForce to install the toolset. I'm basing this on the fact I've had games install Physx Drivers while I'm using a Radeon.

You can force Physx to work with Radeon. Physx is actually not as exclusive as you may think. It's more marketing than exclusive technology in my opinion. I can't remember exactly where I've seen it, but it's on this site: http://ngohq.com/

There are also news/rumours spreading that currently some kind of beta driver for 5870 has features of Physx.

EDIT: Found some info. Apparently it's a bit of a hassle. You will need Win 7, and an 8000+ nvidia card on top of your existing ATi card. You will need both the offical drivers, possibly some custom drivers and this patch here to make it work.

you don't need the nvidia (I've got an ATI radeon 5870 hd too). You may need to install the Physix library (which are free)but that's all. Now, if you have windows 7 or windows Xp, you can enjoy physix like Ghoxen said but it's not mandatory.

As stated above you need the Physix DLL which will come with the install.

I've currently got the toolset installed on my laptop which as an on-board intel graphics chips and it works just fine.

No, nVidia now owns PhysX now, so it's 'drivers for nVidia PhysX' and not 'nVidia (specific) drivers for PhysX'
