Can you please tell me why it's justified to lock down every thread with the SE not available on steam as well as the delayed release of the regular version. I am sure a lot of players would like to voice their concerns and disappointment with EA/Bioware.

Please don't turn a blind eye, you already know it's a problem but you are stemming how many users are negatively impacting your brand by closing every thread. We can take this to the steam pages and setup a Boycott DA2 steam page as well if you like.

You are not at all offering a solution to the problem that still remains, I do thank Fernando who was very helpful however. As much as I want to believe his statements this game has been developed for awhile and I am sure the negotiations to have this released on steam should of started a long time ago. The fact that the SE was not on steam is a huge oversight and I am sure the incompetent individual who caused this in the first place can be easily replaced.

Do not do this for Mass Effect 3 either, you can gain back my trust when I see the SE on steam when it is released.

It is justified to lock those threads because there was already a thread for the subject and forum rules don't allow starting new threads for a subject when there is already a thread where people are discussing it. It is the same policy Bioware has been following on this forum as long as I can recall.

It doesn't help that every thread is locked, I am sure we could of at least hit 50 pages by now if each steam thread wasn't locked on purpose.

The annoucnement that Dragon Age II was now available on Steam was closed as it became too negative as everyone wanted to dwell on the lack of the Signature Edition, not that it was now on Steam or the currect pre-order items.

Previous threads were closed and directed to one main thread. This was not because of Steam. This is SOP for these forums to keep discussion in one area so everyoen can find it.

This thread can stay open as long as it does not again become too nagative.

It's okay Chris, I grow tired of this, this thread can be closed too. I am a big fan of Bioware but my attention span is growing thin. Please take this into consideration when ME3 is released and I hope to see the SE on steam. For now I will not be buying DA2 until they regain my trust with hint hint ME3 SE on steam.

Don't make the same mistake please.

See your game in a year when its $30 with all the DLC, **** you Bioware. If ME 3 is this much I'll wait for that too, and that's coming from someone that owns 1 & 2.

This post is an example of why these threads keep getting locked.

...when did failing to release the SE on one digital distribution medium constitute a betrayal of trust? Guess I missed the bit where BioWare promised universal release of the SE on all distribution mediums, puppies, and tiaras for everyone.

It's difficult for me to muster up some enthusiasm about the Steam edition as things stand now, having missed the SE by mere hours and venting about the situation is considered spam 'round these parts.
The enthusiasm I would have had for the game's arrival on Steam on is significantly hampered by a bitterness towards this whole situation. It's just....disappointing. I had been hoping against hope that Bioware would find some way to pull through for us and that they didn't (or couldn't, as the case may be) is just really unfortunate.

Still, like I said in the now locked thread, I'm grateful that there's a Steam version at all, that comes with at least a portion of the bonuses. And now that there's no pressure to purchase as these fancy items come with every new copy, I can wait until I'm more comfortable with purchasing and maybe even wait for some PC reviews, rather than jumping in blindly like I would have had the SE been available on Steam from the get go.

So, silver lining and all that, I suppose =]

What problem? That you had several months to find another retailer from which to purchase the SE, and instead procrastinated hoping for it to appear on Steam when BioWare never gave any indication that it would in time for the SE offer?

Sounds to me like you have no one to blame but yourself.

You steam SE people are rediculous, thier SE was about pysical disks and presentation as much as it was about digital content. This edition was for pysical retail only, GET OVER IT...

Um, I got my PC SE as Digital only as there were several places that did make it available.  Yes, Steam wasn't one of them but they weren't the sole digital distributor.

Oh man, I want a tiara!

I also wanted da2 from steam, but when it became obvious the signature edition wouldn't be on there, got it elsewhere instead.

I'm sorry? I believe we are the majority, steam is the largest digital distribution medium. They ignored a large portion of there consumers. I don't like being forced to buy a product from inferior services. I don't even have a dvd player in my computer anymore.

Couldn't stay away for too long =/

So, is there a thread on the Steam forums with people asking Valve why they couldn't come to terms with EA before the SE offer expired? Were there people on the Steam forums three months ago begging Valve/Steam not to betray their loyal, diehard fans? And if not, why not?

I did not procrastinate at all, I waited specifically for it to be released on Steam.

Since the Signature Edition was available on http://www.impulsedriven.com/ and http://www.direct2drive.com/, could you explain what are you talking about?

I am under the assumption until proven otherwise that the pricing is determined by the publisher. Therefore with that major stipulation being said I am sure they are also responsible for whether or not the product is released.

Their were several threads on the steam forums asking if it was to be released, everyone was pointed to these forums instead.

Myself mostly,  I don't have this whole costumer loyality thing.  I buy from where its convient/cheaper/etc.  I don't quite understand why you have to buy from steam?  Do you get bonuses for doing so..?  Or is it just out of simple devotion,  I can respect both...  but I also think its silly to complain when you could easily rectify the problem by getting the game from another distributor.
