Strength: 43+10
Dexterity: 53+21
Willpower: 24+4
Magic: 14
Cunning: 37+17
Constitution: 18+16
High strength is good, which is often ignored, and try to use equipment and skill buffs for constitution, as it is useful, but not key. Don't neglect willpower, either, as you'll want a lot of stamina as this is a skill heavy build. Cunning is key for damage, and most important is dexterity. This is tantamount, and extremely useful. You'll find that you can almost function as a tank against many enemies as they'll simply not be able to hit you. If you bring with you many healing potions, and a decent support mage, you should be able to kill a high-dragon pretty much singlehandedly at high levels.
Use the Duelist, Assassin and Legionnaire Scout subclasses. The Duelist and Scout should be maxed out or close to it, but the Assassin you should just choose for the bonusses. Scout will also allow you to soak up a lot more damage than normal.
In terms of talents, max out dual wielding talents, and most combat rogue ones, specifically use Dirty Fighting, Coup de Grace and Combat movement. Higher level skills are also extremely useful, especially flicker. Ignore talents that focus only on things like lock-picking or stealth.
Bring in your party a warrior with good armour to keep enough the heat off you - you can take a lot more damage than most rogues, but you do not want to be surrounded. If this does happen, despite your best efforts, use a skill like Whirlwind. The warrior doesn't have to be a tank, by the way, but should be able to take more damage than you. Also important is a healer, preferably with support spells like Waking Nightmare. They should stay at range, while you and your warrior friend dish out damage. Finally, bring a rogue who can unlock things for good gear. They should be an archer, but Sigrun dual-wielding works too as long as you keep her a bit to the sidelines.
Hope this helps and happy killing!

For me a rogue is all about daggers then you chose either the heavy cunning build or the heavy dex build, whilst the sword wielding strength build may work on a rogue it is seriously harming or changing the way the class is meant to be played my oppinion of course.

In all honesty from my own opinion why would you want to use swords on a rogue? im not criticizing anyones choice, if thats the setup they want then its their prerogative.

I prefer sword/dagger build myself, but designed much like the one mentioned above w/ STR/DEX. I guess I enjoy being able to go toe-to-toe with an opponent as well as stabbing them in the back; less special manuevering, too.

to me the problem lies within the game, apart from a 2h weapon on a 2h warrior build daggers are simply the best weapons in the game. equipping a sword seriously cripples your attack speed as far as i can remember the only real benefit from swords or axes is if u equip 1 in each hand and use the whirlwind abilty, which for me isnt a rogue but again just my opinion.

Personally, I prefer to have more options and versatility beyond auto-attack routines.

And again personal choice is the main thing here as i understand auto attack backstabbing is not everyones cup of tea
As for versatility the dagger/dagger heavy dexterity build will give you an insane defence.

I'm sorry to put you on the spot Elhanan but when you say shields are you talking just during the early levels or do you carry one through-out the game... & any special encounters that you find a shield helps?
My first Warden was a concept design. I wanted to play a Dwarven Archer/ S&S that could pick locks and disarm traps, so Warrior was dropped. And while there were no talents, nothing prevented it either other than STR prereqs, so Rogue it was. After this initial success, I did the same again later, but did not commit to the Ultimate Sacrifice like the first.
Shields do add to Defense, plus some are great for Stamina Regen and other abilities. Few really spring to mind as offensive attack shields anyway. This time around, I was able to get Fade Wall, too. The attack animations with Backstab and Duelist seemed to improve weapon speed, though that may be illusionary; uncertain.
But a real boost comes in against the Harvester, and being able to utilize the Legion heraldry. For kiting against Orange skeletons and a faster Boss, the extra points were quite helpful for this Legion Scout.

So for example, why not just dual-wield daggers instead of using sword and shield? You'd have massive defense and better damage than a sword and shield warrior with similar defense. Probably better than one that spends points on strength and skips a lot of that defense.
Sorry for derailing the thread.

* About half of their damage output
* All of their DW talents including Riposte, one of their activated stuns
* Crit chance and 'Bleed' from DW Expert
* -5 ATT and DEF from DW Finesse
* Any ATT bonus from their offhand weapon (-4 in the case of The Edge)
They will gain:
* Neither Shield attacks nor Shield Wall
* +10 Defense (in the case of Champion's minus the loss from Finesse)
* Minor bonus from equipped shield
Or you could keep DW and simply pop an Incense of Awareness...

@OP
The reason why there isn't a lot of Dual Sword Rogue info is that the principal value of DW Large lies in Talent Spamming, a skill at which Warriors easily eclipse Rogues. Rogues, in turn, excel at Backstabs/Crits where Daggers are the superior option.
If you insist on going 2x Large with a Rogue for RP purposes, try this:
Assassin / Duelist
Dex: 36 (base)
Cun: 18 (base) Combat Stealth or 22 (base) Master Stealth or 30 (w/ gear) for Locks
Str: Max
All others: Base
Figure out what you want to focus on for Armor:
Backstab/ Crits: WC Armor w/ Cailan's boots & gloves
Talents: Evon / Wade
