Just thought I would say congratulations and that it's impressive.

I obviously don't know all the legal and technical mumbo jumbo behind doing something like this, but I think it's really cool that you all were able to get ME2 as a downloadable on PSN, not to mention the whole "putting it on PS3" thing...

Congrats also to Mr. Houston, as I understand it, was something of a "guy in charge" for ME2 on PS3 right?

Anyway, just wanted to say that.

Also, ignore everyone going crazy in that other thread where Mr. Houston tweeted that he could finally talk about his work and everyone cried outrage because it wasn't a full game expansion.

Anyone who knows anything about ME knows that something big or new isn't going to be announced by a single dev on a twitter account...

People need to relax, or devs might start to second guess the worth of sharing tidbits of information or their own personal insight through twitter, resulting in less Mass Effect related goodness straight from the source of the fountain of Bioware lol.

So yeah, congratulations and can't wait for news about dlc or whatever else you guys got up your sleeves for us.

If overlord and Shadow broker are any indication...*mouth starts to drool*...oops sorry. Never mind. Just looking forward to it....

Thanks for the mention, posts like this really help keep the morale up :) I'm not so much the guy in charge as much as I am the coordinator of highly awesome folks!

And it's crazy volumes of mumbo jumbo ;) That's pretty much all I did over the holiday 'Vacation'

for sure, congrats. if i could have, i would have preferred to download me2 on release date myself. this is the digital age, and it's good to see bioware going in the progressive direction.

Bioware's overworking their employees?!? This man deserves an extended vacation! :D If I could, I would buy you a few days off of work for your dedication Mr. Houston? ;) Unfortunately a wink smiley will have to suffice at the moment.

In all seriousness though, keep up the good work. It's good to see PS3 users being given the chance to have ME2. I've never really been a fan of console exclusives.

Yeah, I wanted to get my ex-boyfriend to try the ME series but he only has a PS3 and he's unwilling to buy an Xbox.. so maybe he can at least try the second one now.

Haha, I got a dev to say mumbo jumbo...success! =]

Seriously though, yeah all of you guys at Bioware deserve a lot of support. Unfortunately on the forums most of the time we come to say what we didn't like or think should be changed and improved (including myself, sometimes being a tad bit harsher than I should be...:?) and I can only imagine how much stress and work pressure all you guys are under, like you said, the things we don't see like people working through the holidays.... and I mean that from the head honchos down to the little guys.

So even though by no means any of you fine people at Bioware need my personal approval, you definitely deserve it, no matter what other smaller issues/critiques I or anyone else may have about your games!

Thanks and congrats again!

P.S.- Although it is a bit of a vicious circle, I don't think I can feel that bad about you guys working a lot, because that means more and better ME stuff for us haha :D

Naw, BioWare treats us really well, this was totally a self inflicted labour of love. I was at my folks house - just couldn't stop. :)

Can you do this for ME3 360 at launch as well? I don't mind the disk transfer stuff, but it'd be a nice option to have. Or is that different kinds of crazy mumbo jumbo?

would be cool option for ME3 on 360 especially if it entails multiple disks like ME2. plus it would save me the drive to gamestop. I plan to be as lazy as humanly possible on release day of ME3.

Nevertheless, grats on PSN release. I may be wrong but this is the first title like this to have a digital console release the same day as the disc.

Lol I was just kiddin'. :) I know Bioware's a good company. But you can't disagree on the last part though, now come on. :P I think I can relate to how you feel. I enjoy my environment design very much. In fact, the time I set aside to play games has been taken over completely with designing levels for them. I enjoy working on games more than playing them as weird as that sounds. I think it's just the creativity portion, letting my imagination run wild. I remember when I used to make maps for UT3, I'd just finish it and release it - and instead of playing it i'd get to work on another one. I've had people tell me I work too much. :D
I guess thats what happens when you have a job doing something you love. Unfortunately for me, my employment is a little while away. But I'm getting there....

But back on topic eh?;)

Yes Congrates on wasting your time with ME-2 on the Playstation, what a pointless and stupid Idea seeing as you will make almost no money on it and you could have spent that time working on ME-3 or DLC. Not to mention the fact that you should have also converted the original ME if you wanted to actually make a profit because who buys a game when they haven't even played the first one and they have no idea whats going on...Good luck Genisis

*sniff sniff* I smell a troll. Look despite how you feel about the release on PS3 it IS an incredibly hard job to transfer something of ME2's caliber to another console it wasn't originally designed for. The dev's on this project work hard everyday so we the greedy fans can enjoy their art.

So how DARE you! I'd like to see you rewrite and transition a complex game like that to another console. The fact that its on the PS3 now gives us a chance to bring our PS3 iz superior buddies to the darkside to have some Ezo flavored cookies.

It's haters like you that make my blood boil. Good day sir!

How dare I critisize a company for doing something that is unnecessary? I'm a devote Bioware fan but I know when to crack the whip, and what they are doing by bringing the Mass Effect franchise to the PS-3 is unintelleigence at its highest level. I don't see why we should let them get away with things like this, when they could have devoted so much more time to making Mass Effect 3 or new Downloadable Content.

Why should we congratulate them because EA ( Electronic Arts the parent company that Bioware sold out to) Forced them to convert the game over to the PS-3, I can see three reasons wrong with this.

1. The orignal game was on the XBOX-360. So its not like your are going to have crazy fans buying the game because they liked the sequel so much; Not to mention the common sense fact that people who already own the game arn't going to buy it for the Playstation either.

2. What is the point of making a game if the player can't get the full experience because they didn't play Mass Effect 1, they say that genesis is going to fix the problem but I doubt it seeing as it is going to leave out chunks of what happened out of it. So they are just getting an "improved" canon version of the game.

3. How much money are they expecting to make? They could have released 2 DLC packages or an Expansion pack and made ten times what they are going to be making on this PS-3 venture. Common logic says that you arn't going to make money off of a game that was already made for exclusively for another console because people wont buy a game that they already have and the fact that they don't have a fan base for the PS-3 because the original game was made for the 360.

I'm not a troll, I have a PS-3 and like it but I am not going to get a game I already have. When it comes down to it I am a person using common sense to make an arguement.

Yes the developers worked hard to convert the game for the PS-3, and if they actually did something worth while like LOTSB was then I would praise them, but now they have to work twice as hard to make DLC and ME-3 for both consoles and you can Quality of the games to diminish.

I dont think anyone was trashing the announcement on the other thread. I think it was more that, it was made out to be something big and surprising. In this case, it wasn't. I would of expected nothing less of bioware to add it to psn. I know a lot of people that buy off psn store, so it was a smart decision. Just the problem was on the other thread is that, most people are over the ps3 announcements and even if they weren't, I'm not sure they would of considered that a big announcement.

Sure I'll congratulate you bioware, but I still think the way the announcement was presented was a bit of a downer considering most readers of your twitter mr Houston are xbox and pc players, which arent to fussed with the ps3.

Also as a side note: war houndoom, I will with hold my judgement of the ps3 version till the figures come in, exactly as you should. In fact I believe ur miss informed as the me1 game is license doesn't allow the game to be ported. It is a mircosoft exclusive game I'm lead to believe

I can't wait for you to start a company, because you basically already know everything there is to know, particularly EXACTLY what the fans want and how to please them!

@Whereto - No I understand that the first game was made by Microsoft, and the second one should have been made by Microsoft too.

@SomeKindaEnigma - If you can give me one good reason that Bioware should have made the PS-3 version of the game except for EA forcing them to do it so EA can make a profit do tell me. Because if you can I might just retract my statement. I love both consoles too so this isn't a Console fan war on my behalf. So go ahead explain just why it was a good idea to do a Port? Oh and as far as I can tell Bioware doesn't listen to their "Fan Base"

good news... any chance ME2 can also be put on games on demand on the 360 so i dont have to deal with changing out the disks?
