When it comes down to it I am a person using common sense to make an arguement.

Don't sell yourself short: you're also using self-righteous indignation and hubris.

Let me ask you this.

1. Are you going to buy the PS-3 Version?

2. If given the choice would you rather have had them work on new DLC/ME-3 or a Playstation Port?

3. Would you buy a game that you know you can't get the full experience out of? I know the Comic will fill in alot, but its also going to leave out alot just the same. Like I said its basically the "Improved Canon" Version.

@Whereto - No I understand that the first game was made by Microsoft, and the second one should have been made by Microsoft too.

They published it.  Published =/= "made by". It's not that hard to find this out:

I agree with BiancoAngelo. Must have been a nightmare of paperwork and legal stuff (copyright, anti-piracy etc.) to make this possible, so thanks for the effort Bioware and Jesse! Never dreamed of playing ME2 on the PS3 before the announcement:)

Got a question though (been searching for it, don't think has been answered yet): Will the download of ME2 on the PSN also be available to us gamers in Europe or just to gamers in North America? Will the price be the same as us buying the game in-store or more expensive or cheaper?

Would appreciate an answer from anyone here who might know, since i'm a little hesitant when it comes to buying "credits" for the EU-PSN if i don't know if it's going to be available here in the first place.

Either way, Bluray-disc or download, a day-one buy for me:D

Thats what I mean, so thank you for correcting me. They should have published it again because if they did that they would have allowed Bioware to make the game the way it should have been.

Probably not right now.  However, I've considered it simply because I'm actually rather interested in seeing if they've made any dialogue changes beyond the intro sequence, which Jesse Houston has already said they've altered to compensate for the lack of ME1.  To a lesser extent, I'm interested in any other minor differences the porting process wrought. Others feel differently though, and intend to buy it regardless.

2. If given the choice would you rather have had them work on new DLC/ME-3 or a Playstation Port?

Why choose?  They've been doing all three this whole time, or hadn't you noticed?

3. Would you buy a game that you know you can't get the full experience out of? I know the Comic will fill in alot, but its also going to leave out alot just the same. Like I said its basically the "Improved Canon" Version.

Would I if getting the games for either PC or the 360 were an option?  No.  As I said, others feel differently.  Just go read some of the PS3 topics if you want to find some.  Would I if that weren't an option for whatever reason?  Yeah, if the setting interested me and it were a massive critical success and all that jazz.  Which, again going by posts on the forum, appears to be the case for a fair number of people.  Some people have even started entire topics just to say "Thanks for porting it."

Now let me ask you something: what did you think a sample size of one would prove?

I dont think anyone was trashing the announcement on the other thread. I think it was more that, it was made out to be something big and surprising. In this case, it wasn't. I would of expected nothing less of bioware to add it to psn. I know a lot of people that buy off psn store, so it was a smart decision. Just the problem was on the other thread is that, most people are over the ps3 announcements and even if they weren't, I'm not sure they would of considered that a big announcement.

Sure I'll congratulate you bioware, but I still think the way the announcement was presented was a bit of a downer considering most readers of your twitter mr Houston are xbox and pc players, which arent to fussed with the ps3.

Also as a side note: war houndoom, I will with hold my judgement of the ps3 version till the figures come in, exactly as you should. In fact I believe ur miss informed as the me1 game is license doesn't allow the game to be ported. It is a mircosoft exclusive game I'm lead to believe

this...

and @OP, personally I think that this kind of 'tidbit of information' would have been better kept off twitter, and hope that BW employees do refrain from tweeting such 'tidbits' in future.

I would think a Majority of people would rather have them make new DLC/ME-3, since the Majority owns the game on the 360/PC. That being said I would also think that the Majority would rather have had Bioware devoting their time and resources on making new DLC/ME-3, rather than having them work on the PS-3 port. I get in the Overall sense that the Majority doesn't care about the PS-3 port. Sure one or two person's care about it, and thats fine, but I would rather have Bioware pleasing their Core constitutes which are the 360/PC owners. When it comes down to it the Majortiy doesn't want the port, its like what Lucas did with Star Wars (No one really wanted a prequel because we knew what was going to happen, they want a sequel), or what happened with the Star Trek movie; The Fan Base would rather have had a continuation of the series.

I am planning on buying ME2 for my PS3 and I was wondering if anybody is willing to help me and tell me what are the default decisions that the game assumes took place in ME1. Such as romances, deaths, big decisions, etc. If anybody can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

im not a fan of microsoft being a publsher. halos 2 and 3 would have been multitudes better than what they were if microsoft wasn't pushing the production of the games. and to a true halo fan you can notice where the improvements would have been if microsoft wasn't calling the shots.

out of the two evils EA is the lesser imo, which says a lot

So this tidbit of information was someone using his own personal Twitter account to express happiness that he could openly discuss a project he'd been working on for work. You are saying that a BioWare employee should not be allowed to use his own personal Twitter account to make any references he wants to about his work because you did not agree with his enthusiasm. Just to be clear on what exactly you find is acceptable use of someone's personal Twitter account.

I think there are six major choices that you get to pick through the interactive comic in the PS3 version, as opposed to the "default" game experience that came with the PC/360 versions of ME2 where these choices were already made. Being stuck with the default settings if you didn't import the game was one of the criticisms of ME2. There is no correct romance or decision, so be thankful that the PS3 version gives you the choice whatever they are.

So I'll get to choose, on the whole, what happens to Shepard in the past? However, no romances will have been accounted for in this manner?
EDIT: So, say I would have wanted my Shepard to have romanced Liara, in ME2 will this be impossible?

Actually, I'm guessing that will be very possible for PS3 players, as I imagine picking your romance is one of the six decisions from the interactive comic.

You also miss out on side quest decisions and character dialouge that you had with your sqaudmates. It's better than the original "canon" but it doesn't give you the full experience, so when you import to ME-3 you will be missing some of the options that 360/PC owners get. I guess no romance is a good thing.

I also have a slightly unrelated question. I still have the card that has the Blood Dragon Armor from my CE of Origins. Will it work?

This post mentions some of the content coming with the PS3 version. The Blood Dragon Armor is one of them, so you won't need your code from Origins.

very helpful thank you. I think I am definitely going to buy it now. Hopefully I can romance Miranda, Liara, and Tali just as well as 360 users, if there is any difference

Congrats Bioware and thanks for bringing one of my favorite games (I know, I know. I do appear ME2 hater but it's only because I want ME3 to be A-orgasmic-wesome.) on PS3. ;)

Man, I can't believe some people are so negative about Bioware making certain corporate strategy decisions like making ME2 for PS3. I can understand if someone doesn't like it, but what I don't get is some people acting like since they don't like it, they know better than the analysts and devs that have poured what must be tons of time and effort into understanding whether or not porting ME2 is profitable and making it happen.

Also, like I said before, anyone who knows anything about ME should know by now that we get big news through official well known channels like the "news" forum or through official press releases. While Mr. Houston tweeting that he was excited about his work made me even curious and dreaming about dlc or surprise modding tools or the cure to cancer (lol) when he announced it was ME2 on PSN of course it wasn't what I was hoping for, but I also understood and said to myself "that's nice, musta been hard".

I'm the first to criticize something in the game when I think it's done poorly or could be done better (sometimes a bit too harshly maybe....) but I think we should be a bit more positive, especially when it comes to the hard work that the people at Bioware do.

The controls of a video game could be happy or a homosexual? I never knew something like that has their own style.

Anyways, good news I guess.I'll still be buying it on disc instead though.
