So this tidbit of information was someone using his own personal Twitter account to express happiness that he could openly discuss a project he'd been working on for work. You are saying that a BioWare employee should not be allowed to use his own personal Twitter account to make any references he wants to about his work because you did not agree with his enthusiasm. Just to be clear on what exactly you find is acceptable use of someone's personal Twitter account.wildannie wrote...
and @OP, personally I think that this kind of 'tidbit of information' would have been better kept off twitter, and hope that BW employees do refrain from tweeting such 'tidbits' in future.
Please don't put words in my mouth.
What's acceptable - whatever anyone wants to tweet... what's also acceptable comment on those tweets - both positive and negative.
If (fairly low key) negativity/criticism on a tweet is going to cause upset to the tweeter then consideration of the potential for misunderstanding/high hopes the original tweet could generate might have been an idea.
I would imagine (and hope) that Jesse is not bothered by any of the negativity, you can't please all the people all of the time...

Man, I can't believe some people are so negative about Bioware making certain
corporate strategy decisions like making ME2 for PS3. I can understand if
someone doesn't like it, but what I don't get is some people acting like since
they don't like it, they know better than the analysts and devs that have
poured what must be tons of time and effort into understanding whether or not
porting ME2 is profitable and making it happen.
Also, like I said before, anyone who knows anything about ME should know by now
that we get big news through official well known channels like the
"news" forum or through official press releases. While Mr. Houston
tweeting that he was excited about his work made me even curious and dreaming
about dlc or surprise modding tools or the cure to cancer (lol) when he
announced it was ME2 on PSN of course it wasn't what I was hoping for, but I
also understood and said to myself "that's nice, musta been hard".
I'm the first to criticize something in the game when I think it's done poorly
or could be done better (sometimes a bit too harshly maybe....) but I think we
should be a bit more positive, especially when it comes to the hard work that
the people at Bioware do.
Exactly Thank you! This is exactly what I think.
@War Houndoom
You know stating numbers at me isnt going to change the fact that this thread is a CONGRATULATIONS FOR HARD WORK thread weither YOU like it or not!
Yes I am an avid fan myself and when I get a PS3 I AM going to buy it. I understand that you think its pointless but Bioware's dev's dont. I'm just asking for a little appreciation on their part for hard work that they put into it. I'm biting my nails for the next DLC but it's not like they couldn't be working on it now. Bioware WILL deliver what we have been so desperate for since they announced ME2's release on the PS3.
I'm not too much of a fan of it myself but I know when to stop complaining about something I cannot change. I believe that I may have been to harsh in my original post directed at you but that still doesnt change the fact that it IS here. Period. So let it go.......until the numbers come in.

Bioware didn't do it to try and double dip and get people to try to buy the same game. Their goal was not to make people who played one version or the other feel jealous or ripped off.
They want to increase the fanbase of a really great series. They want more people to be able to play the game.
Why would anyone who loves Mass Effect think this is a bad thing?
I played ME1+2 on PC. You can bet I'm telling anybody with a PS3 to pick it up so they can share the experience.

Nevertheless, I congratulate you on making ME2 go digital in time for release. You guys are pulling out all the stops for the PS3 release, and it's nice to see a company and its employees dedicated to its games.

lol dude, of course it's their job but that doesn't mean that if they do they're job well we shouldn't congratulate them!
If a cop saves your life, isn't he "just doing his job"?
And I would suggest you look at it from another viewpoint. Even though you and I own and play ME2 on PC or 360, the fact that Bioware will now have a new revenue stream from the PS3 market segment means more funds to be able to do bigger and better things / projects for some ME goodness!
So yeah, it is thier job, but they do a very good job, so that's why I thought it would be appropriate and nice to say:
*cue Han***** (Edit: Oh come on, Im not cussing, its the movie character!)
"Good Job"
You and I might not see the direct benefits, but trust me, we benefit from ME2 on PS3 even if we never pick up a PS3 controller.
Plus I mean cmon, these guys brought us an amazing level of quality in games like ME, ME2 and DAO just to name a few. They deserve us telling them that they do a good job every once in a while.
And if I sound like a fanboy, trust me, Im really not. I myself have been the first to criticize what I thought they did wrong with ME2, sometimtes admitteldy too harshly or with some personal bitterness.

Nah it's cool. We congratulate them so they can feel good that people appreciate what they do, despite all the flames. Maybe we'll get DLC faster if they're happy! It's more of just a simple thank you. The complex way of saying thank you.........is with our wallets. X3

I'm not a fan of consoles and controllers, etc but I can see the sound business sense this makes and it is a repeating pattern. It is only surprising in that the PS3 is a different animal to code due to it's operating system. At least that is what some say.

Uh I guess I can understand that. Though I'm not sure about your police analogy. O.o You compare a videogame with a life and death situation. I'm pretty sure people value their life more than a videogame. Of course I would thank the people who saved my life.
I wish my wife thanked or congratulated me for going to work every day.
Is Games on Demand and the PSN service really that profitable? Do people even use the service? I can't imagine anyone doing that, the price is never justified.

No you are right, we kind of thank them by giving them money.
If it really helps the other projects then that's cool to me.

Perhaps I am in the minority that is willing to go "backwards" but I really don't care. I'm in it for the experience. Congrats to BioWare for bringing this to the PS3 - with hopes that this endeavor proves fruitful all around!
I'm so excited, I even took a half day off work to play ME2 next Tuesday even though my husband looked at me funny
Ha, can't wait!

lol no I didn't mean to compare making a good game to saving your life, I just meant that we're not congratulating them for just doing their job, more like congratulating them for doing their job well.
haha Im sure your wife thanks you in other ways though...
games on demand on PSN really is profitable, I have a PS3 and being able to buy and download a ton of full games without even going anywhere is GREAT. It really is a profitable service, and makes various games more accessible to people.

What people have to keep in mind is that a game going multiplat means more investiments for Bioware and EA, and they can use such resources to improve even more Mass Effect 3 and other items of the franchise.

I will admit that I had gotten my hopes up that the announcement was potentially DLC, despite knowing it 99% would've been another announcement.
Well, in a way it was. Because you do realize what this means, right? Literally the ENTIRE GAME has become DLC. How about that.

Good point!
By that, I deduce that since the entire game is DLC, then it's DLC featuring Ashley and Kaidan!

Wait so you buy full games on PSN? I can understand buying Indy and Arcade games because I do that too but full retail games? Isn't that a bit expensive? Most of the time you can get it somewhere else cheaper, you don't even have to look that hard.

Players who love the ME series wouldn't think it as something bad unless they're a console fanboy and/or have a hate towards the PS3.If this game is so great like so many owners and critics have said then it should be played and loved by more than just the 360 and PC gamers. Also,a bigger fanbase=more profit from ME3 and new DLC.ElectricZ wrote...
