Buying it tomorrow. Will probably do first playthrough without it, then go back for all the bonuses I missed.

Uh-oh, a Seeker's mark.... Should we expect the use of fire to open this book? Or would entropy be a better suggestion?

Internet = Strategy Guide
Its so accurate. 'Cause that's where I found out how babies are made.

I NEVER buy strategy guides. EVER. Simple fact of the matter, you always have Gamefaqs if you absolutely must have a damn walkthrough to hold your hand, and it doesn't cost $20-30. It's free!

I got suckered into buying a strategy guide by Gamestop. Sure it was handy when the internet was down but I'm stuck with it and I don't even have the game anymore. If there is ever a time when I have to burn stuff to survive that is going in the fire first.
They are a waste of time & money. Since time is money you are royally screwed in the money department.

A lot of people (like me) buy the guides even thought the internet has made them "obsolete" because we love the art and the extra bonuses inside and there's just something about owning a book that has everything about a game you love in it just awesome.

This mainly. I own a strategy guide for nearly every game I love--not for tips or tricks, but for art, and it usually comes with a map, poster or something and they can contain extra tidbits that are just interesting to read. Sure, I can go get information for free on the internet and sometimes I do, especially if the laptop is closer to me than my bookcase, but it’s something about a book. When someone asked me if I wanted a Kindle for Christmas, I said no immediately. Sometimes, some things are just not to be substituted. Besides, it’s my money--I do what I want.

Oh, thanks for posting this. I pre ordered mine from Gamestop but it didn't have a description. I couldn't find info for it anywhere. I usually don't buy guides, either but I missed the Signature Edition. I'm a sucker for art work and as a book nerd, there's nothing quite like the smell of a new book.

I bought the Origins Collector's guide, it was awesome! (never actually used it, just nice to have) and I sure as hell will not miss getting this one too! Looks very nice.

This is probably the wrong place to ask this, but anyone interested in selling the Origins Collector's edition guide? I'd rather not pay the exorbitant prices that Amazon is asking for for the book now (50 bucks at the "cheapest")
On a more relevant topic, I've already preordered this Collector's for DA2!

Assuming that some copies actually make it to stores, I'll just go get a copy from Best Buy or Gamestop and save a few bucks.
I've also bought strategy guides for pretty much every game that I've owned, if a guide was available, because I'm a perfectionist and will start over if I find that I've missed something. Sure, the internet has mostly made strategy guides unneccessary, but old habits die hard. Plus, the included artwork, soundtrack, character bios and etc are nice to have.

And for the people saying that you can look up all the walkthroughs and info you need on the internet, sure, but there's something to be said for holding a hardbound book in your hands and looking at the pretty pictures.
My sentiments exactly. This is why I got the DA:O one and I've preordered the DA2 one. :3 It's funner than reading it off of the computer or my cellphone. I don't usually use it for the strategy unless I don't have the Internet handy at the time, but the lore is what draws me to it. Love the lore and the pictures. x3
