As many of you have seen in the trailers, the new combat system looks awesome? The question is,what class appeals most to you?
What class will you be?

All of them. Not being sarcastic, I just have every intention on playing through all the classes. If I had to pick 1 though, it would be the Rogue just so I can open all the locked chests without having to switch party members.

Warrior. Probably going for the zweihander.

It's a tough question since we can only play the game once before it will automatically delete itself
I guess I will be mage

Anybody know what class was shown in the Rise to Power and Destiny trailers. I want to be the class that is shown in the Destiny trailer and at the end of the Rise to Power trailer. Anybody know what class that is?

Rogue, then mage, then warrior. Going Lady, Dude, Lady.

The trailers show Hawke as a mage.
I always play as a mage.

I want to be able to do the thing where you can rip an enemy apart and do that flaming attack with your sword. Is that a warrior or mage?

Mage. Mage's melee combo with a fire staff ends with that line of fire, and the finishing move triggered from the spell Crushing Prison summons two large hands that rip an enemy in two.

I will play a female warrior like I do for most RPGs. Warrior so I can team with Bethany, and female so I can see the F/F relationships.

Before you get all your hopes up you might want to check out this combat footage. It's not going to be just like the trailer footage because the trailer is CGI and heavily stylized.

I mean in the flaming attack in the Rise to Power trailer (gameplayish trailer), when he is fighting the qunaris with the same sword from in the Destiny trailers. What class is that?

I will play Cone of Cold-.. I will play a mage.
Or if other class has Cone of Cold, I will play Cone of Cold class.

There are several, although I believe he is always a mage. The only one that's not that melee move (the line of fire), a fireball spell, or a basic staff attack (those regular bolts of fire) is that overhand blow that I think must come from a cutscene. If you watch, fire starts to flare up around the swordstaff.

I like the badassery of the rogues moves. The mage skills look awesome, but for my first playthrough, I want Bethany. Depending on how those two playthroughs go in terms of which sibling I like more and which contributes best to the story, I'll choose one for my canon

Are you sure that the Hawke fighting the soliders or whatever they are at the ending of the Rise to Power is a mage. It looks like he's wearing warrior armor. Can someone who is working on the game confirm this, like a Bioware employee?

I'll be a FemHawke warrior, so I can see the family dynamic between her and Bethany...since, well, that part has been leaked...

It has already been confirmed by them numerous times. Rise-to-Power-trailer-Hawke is a mage, a blood mage specifically.
And yes, the spell he uses to kill the qunari will be in the game. It's the "deathblow" animation for Crushing Prison.

You can see the Hawke's at the beginning of the combat walkthrough. That's mage armor. The biggest hint, however, is the blaze of fire that he sends out from his staff. Only mages can use staves, and warriors/rogues cannot conjure fire without the aid of flint and steel or mexican food.
