My first two playthroughs will be mage. Then I plan to play as a rogue, especially since I'm curious to see how it will affect the story (Carver vs Bethany, how templars and mages treat your PC, etc.)

I also can't wait to try mage finishing moves!

My first will be a mage, then a warrior, last a rogue

I always go warrior first. There is just something about facing the dangers of the world with nothing but your sword and an inch of steel between you and whatever beastie wants your face.

Of course that meant in DAO I was constantly frozen, burned, paralyzed, crushing prisoned, and horrored constantly. But what can ya do eh?

My mage will be first. Then my DW rogue. Then my sword and board warrior. All female. 'Cause that's how I roll.

I will play once- as a warrior. Then decide if it's worth playing as the other classes.

I think it's more about wanting to be an integral part of the Mages vs. Templars plot point. :) But, yeah, mages are pretty badass.

I personally have always been a warrior. I like to get up there and hack and slash my enemies. Being a mage always looked pretty cool, but I find it boring to just be sitting back and casting spells. With the arcan warrior, I at least thought that I would get weapon abilities too. If you get weapon abilities as a mage in Dragon Age 2, I may consider being a mage

From the way reviews and the comments given by the designers, I see that the Rogues are gonna steel the show. Along with the fact that Lady Hawke has her own seperate posses nad in some pics look very attractive. I plan to play the game as a female rouge.

Well in DA1 my character
<-------------
used a sword and shield, as at the time it seemed the most practical, defense mumbo jumbo. I'll still be a warrior, but I think I'll be havin a great-sword this time around.

'More slaughter per swing' as a certain pilot might say.

Sword and board warrior, then mage and then rogue. Haven't decided if I want my rogue to be an archer or dual wielder yet...

I won’t say I’m force to be a mage but…

From what is appearing on the board so far in terms of skill info, seems all class had a good trim, and are now more focused and distinct. For mage it seems that most playstyle have been preserved. Mage kept some requirements in terms of tactical decision making on which spell to use.

For warriors and rogues, it seems the trim down has turned those in a narrower almost linear tactical play experience. The AI seems (at this point in time) more than capable of handling spamming limited number of skills over a limited number of situations (especially for warriors and archer rogues).

I might try DW rogue to meet Beth and try jumping around.

I prefer to play mages generally, but prefer Beth over a brother. So probably going to be a rogue on first playthrough (and just control Beth most of the time), then mage on second playthrough. Carver seems like the perfect meatshield to drop AoE's on... too bad for no friendly fire, I think it might make Taunt + 2x fireball + rogue AoE attack actually become a smart tactic to use...

I'm going to try a backstabbing rogue but I really don't know if I'm gonna like 'em this time cuz one of my favorite aspects of the backstabbing rogue was the best talents were all passive in service of the almighty backstab. You could reliably do most deadly attack over and over all freaking day if u laid down the CC correctly.

If it sucks too bad I'll abandon it and start a mage that way I again just chug a lyrium potion and POOF! I be good to go, lol. Plus mages are fun, the bloodmage spells are probably still pretty cool in DA2.
