I usually hate mages in most games since they are squishy and boring to play on lower levels (spellswords on the other hand more than make up for that), but with the whole Amell surname and being tied to the mage warden, it sounds compelling.
It will probably be:
Male Mage- I had only one mage playthrough in Origins (male human arcane warrior/blood mage), I'd like to see how that ties in with DA2 (even though it probably won't be spectacular, it will be interesting to continue the game world from that standpoint). I'll continue male mage Hawke in that same light, very dark and occultic but probably less chaotic with an aggressive streak. Plus I want to have a brother-brother rivalry with Carver (the whole apostate thing and possibility of him going with the Templars interests me).
Female Warrior- She will be a diplomatic sword and board wielder that will have the game world of my female human noble (two hand warrior) who married Alistair. She will be a devotee of the Chantry and I'd love to see the option to become a templar (can you spell templar-apostate sister conflict with Bethany). Plus, all my sns tanks in Origins were male (and in general), would be cool to play a female variant.
Male Rogue- To be in the game world of my male dual wielding city elf rogue who romanced Zevran, became an elven bann and sent Loghain to die against the archdemon. He'll have a major sarcastic streak but ultimately will bark more than bite. He will also be a dual wielder as well. This guy will likely be my first playthrough because my city elf was my first playthrough (that whole "blind gameplay" to see what happens thing).
Also want to have characters for my dwarven commoner who sacrificed himself against the blight and my dalish archer who had Alistair take the cake for the demon, these characters will be the opposite fighting style (male two hand warrior or archer rogue, female mage). But we'll see how it goes ; )
