Mage!
How you can pass that awesome staff with blade in other end.
What class will you be?

I'm gonna be a mage. The warrior has some good attacks that can kill multiple enemies (when he levels up), but so can the mage, and more effectively and for a longer period of time. Plus, it looks like it is more fun to play as a mage, and you can do melee AND ranged attacks, and the spells look awesome and the staffblades too!

Something about the rogue class, I just can't not have it as my starting class. (Hoorah for double negatives!) My second character will definately be a mage, though.

I would normally be a mage first, always. However, I want Bethany for my first playthrough (Carver seems more antagonistic), so I guess I'll be a rogue or warrior at first. I'll use the first playthrough as a way to get a better understanding of the mage class so that I can build my perfect mage character during my second, "canon" playthrough.

Mage. magic is so much cooler than swords and armor.

All of them. I am primarily a melee player in any game and never enjoy being a sissy spell caster, but the casters in DA:2 are finally starting to break mold! Is that chain armor I see intertwined in Bethany's clothing? Is that a mage smacking people with his staff instead of squeeing in fright at the sight of blood? Yes! Yes!
But, I will probably play my first playthrough as a rogue.

Rogue.
Reason: I want one in my party, they seem to take the most micro management, so I may as well be that rogue.
If my reasoning falls through, I'll be a rogue anyway, I enjoy the class.

I'd rather have Carver. I like the antagonistic relationship between brothers. Also, I only played as a warrior in DA:O. I may just stick with mage in DA 2. I don;t want to have to wait to be one during my second playthrough.

First time, warrior. Though I'm thinking to make two warriors in my first two playthough, to try different trees/specs. I like a lot warriors trees.
After this, I'm gonna play an archer rogue. It seems a lot of fun. Then a damage dealer mage.

My favorite class in Origins was the rogue (least was the warrior) so I'll give the rogue a go for my first playthrough

Male Mage feels like its the way to go, like being a human male warrior felt like the way to go in Dragon Age Origins.

I was going to be a mage, purely because i could never finish a mage playthrough of Origins, due to the incredibly limited and ugly clothing options... but i'm thinking that i'd prefer Bethany in my party over Carver.
I don't know the ins and outs of the story, but knowing Hawke's family history of apostate-ism, and knowing that the Templars are after him, it seems like having a younger mage sister to protect might make things more interesting, and being an older brother myself, something i can resonate with.
So i'll probably end up playing as a warrior, focusing on two-handed weapons this time around.

I like the fact that Hawke is a mage in a city full of templars. adds a lot of friction

My favourite class is definetaly mage. Now that mages have these insanely powerful new spells, armored robes (or so it seems like D:) and melee attacks they seem almost unbeatable. Templar abilities might have gotten an upgrade too though, or that's what I'm hoping for at least so it's not too easy.

Definately Mage. Then, Rouge, then Warrior.

Rouge! I know some of you hate the animations, but i for one enjoy the new look. You can actually see the difference in classes just by how they move, not just the armor they wear.

A female rogue or mage. Probably rogue because I want Bethany as a companion in my first play through

I keep returning to weapon/shield warrior, though mage and dual-wield rogue are both great fun (and tend to have certain mechanical advantages for party comp).
