Yes, same sex romance was confirmed, but I still don't see why everyone is automatically assuming it's Fenris. We know almost nothing of him other than he was former slave and the like. Maybe it's the whole elf thing?

It's just a hunch, but it doesn't have to be him.  It could easily be someone else.

Yeah. Isabella is confirmed for male Hawke, and I can't imagine her not being open to female Hawke considering she had no problem with gals in Origins.

The focus on Merril as romance options were discussed in a recent video made me suspicious, if nothing else. She isn't confirmed, of course. But I'm guessing she'll be an option for male!Hawke.



For the gals, there's Varric, Fenris, Sebastion, and very likely a male mage (there's at least one mage waiting in the wings- maybe two, as I believe it was once said you can make a party with all members of a single class, and considering Beth and Mer, it seems to fit that it would be a guy). Seb seems unlikely, seeing as he's a special edition character... maybe you can flirt, but I doubt he's a full romance.



Considering that Hawke has to be human, I suspect that they'll make a male love interest that's human. The other? Either Fenris or Varric. There was a huge outpouring of support for each of them as a romance, and I wouldn't want to be the one who had to announce which will be done. In any case, I'm guessing... if it's Anders, he'll be the male/female option. If it's not Anders, then either Fenris or Varric will be the male/female. There is really nothing at all to justify this (save for that Anders could become mildly flirty with basically *everyone* he talked to, including Nate and even Oghrim... but not really a male Warden), but the thought amuses me, so there you go. However, as one of the same-sex romances is a human, I think the other will be not so. But... again, nothing behind that but wild guessing.



I think there will be only four party member romances, mainly because it's been spoken of that romance may be possible with non-party members, just NPC's you get to know. So there being three party members for each character plus perhaps another one or two NPCs... that's a lot of romance, and we know it's not their focus. /g

Edit: Also I doubt dwarf LIs. Neither do I think Fenris or Aveline are LIs.

Mass Effect 2 was shorter in story and gameplay length, than the first one. But it had more romances.



However, I do recall someone or something official mentioning how it is two and two, again.

I agree...and am crushed....how can they go from Alistair (dream romance) to and elf and Anders (for those of us playing a straight female).....
