There are likely three romancables for each.

Merrill and Isabella are definitely LI's hands down. Everyone loves a sexy pirate and the elf next door. Aveline is both married(or Widowed I suppose) and a little....stiff along with Fenris who can't even touch people without feeling inner and physical pain, so I think those two are out.

Varric...erm...I can see him being a LI for FemHawke, but him being a LI for M/M seems a little far-fetched(Though if Bioware did do that I'd REALLY appreciate it). All that's left is "Anders" who we really know nothing about.

M!Hawke:
Isabela
Merrill
Fenris or "Anders" (probably Fenris)

I agree with you. Although Varric may well be one. But I think that either Fenris or the male mage could be a m/m option, seeing as we don't know that the mage is Anders. Isabella is obviously a bi option, and Merrill is the perfect alternative to Isabella for male Hawke.

I would like to know where it was mentioned that Dragon Age 2 is going to have four love interests. I do not deny its existence, but I would like to know if I should still hope for what was done with Mass Effect 2.

I don't think it was ever mentioned anywhere that DA2 would have four love interests. I heard something along the lines of DA2 would have the same amount of relationships as DAO. Unfortunately, I can't find the quote and I'm wondering if it's something like the rumor game of "Telephone".

AFAIK Isabella is the only one currently confirmed, though I may have missed something.

Shepard did in ME2 , so for some, it would follow that Hawke would get an equal ammount of chances for lovin'.
