In the Silverite mine, how do I get it?

To access the chest, you have to remove the green gas first. In the upper room, you pull the levers in a code to make the gas disperse, then you can go down and open the chest. Pull the levers, left, right, left, right, to solve the puzzle. I don't recall there being a key for the chest. I think the gas is the lock!

No, not that chest, in the Archetects room, not lab.

Velanna's sister gives you the key if you coax her with the right conversation choices. AFAIK that's the only way to open that chest.

Ah, the chest thats in the room with all the books and journal entries and stuff? I don't recall a key for it, I think your rouge has to pick the lock.

Oh yes, thats right, I remember now. Yup, you have to persuade Seranni to give you the key that unlocks the chest in the Architects room. You have to persuade her when you first speak with her while you are locked in the cell.

I've never really understood why Seranni frees you/gives you the key/is never seen again after that.

It is the Ring of Discipline that I notably remember, the counterpart to the Ring of Mastery, and both are quite useful for any mage.

So yeah... go ahead and... kick yourself for that one
