Can't understand why a partially shown butt and a BOOB (come on, we've all sucked one and we were underage) makes ME a "porn" game (according to Faux News). You can see more nudity watching MTV for five minutes than in whole ME.

Oh my god. The news are killing the brilliant minds of ME and DA! People (in US, there's no issue with nudity in Japan as far as I know, at least not with ME) unite and demonstrate for naked video game characters during romance scenes!

Glad you decided to drag up OLD news..must be a slow day in the forums.

Fox News is no less or more of a news agency then any other fricken news you want to subscribe to. One story about a video game you like and now it's all trash and the people who watch it are brainless sheeple. Yeah ok, the posters in here that have that opinion are committing the same mistake that the reporter did with that story.

Just like it's in vogue to bash FN, it's also in vogue to blame video games for societies ills. It's an easy scapegoat. Don't take it so personally.



As far as nudity in video games, bring it...I say more nudity. Bonetown anyone?

I don't care what people watch or read, it's their choice. But if I want to comment on something at least I check it first to see what is the issue they're talking about. That's the problem with some newspapers or tv stations- they hear the story second hand and they're ready to form a "this-is-the-only-absolute-true-truth" kind of opinion.

i find it funny for how some games, such as god of war, can have fully exposed breasts complete with nipples and bioware gets slammed for side-boob.

Nudidity or not, what gives PEGI Sates 18+, at least for Dragon age, that i played, and on the Back says Violence. What is more malignat see a woman or man in underwear, or to kill a man a see blood coming out, (on a game of course).
What do ppl care for more?? umh you go to the beach you see alot of women in topless nowadays.

I just hope Bioware keeps good work and not change the style of Dragon age games, is so rare to find good Sword games.

but if no one makes a stand then who will?

video games are art and should be respected as such. you dont see ridicule and attacks news companies make on paintings and statues do you. why should it be any different for videogames, especially if there is a proper ESRB rating on it?

if a news company trash talks bioware for an artistic choice then we can do something about it. either going from bringing the news to court for slander and infringing on bioware's right to freedom of speech. if not then we can get a petition for the news studio to make a formal apology.

So if I happened to like that scene where Shepard and Liara shared the bed, it cannot be because it was tastefully done and  made them more life like? Instead it is that I'm sad wanker who plays ME because I can't browse for porn?

I advice you to be careful if you happen one day pick up a book about for example WW2. In surprisingly many of those books it's made clear that those soldiers have life and loves on home front (or someone at least on friendly harbour).
Some books from Brian Callison and Douglas Reeman at least from the top of my head.


About Fox news. In my opinion what happened presented very well the nature of some authors like Cooper and Fox news. They are opportunists who seek to rise up controversy and cash with it (book sales, ratings).
IMO the message they were trying to send was "Innocent kids are in danger because PC or console game that is sold among other titles contains sexual material, but we are here to make you aware of that danger."

Lots of people seem to speculate this controversy caused sex scenes in ME2 being directed in way where they turned into clothed people dry humping against each others?

So that video game characters have sex isn't a problem but if they are partially or totally naked, then there is a problem?

Now, ME is M rated game so small kids should not play it anyway. Then according to studies that I have read the reason why sexual content can be harmful for children is that they do not have way to know difference between aggression and sexual situations. Exposing children to pornographic material is a criminal offense in most countries for a reason.
Then nudity by itself well, no or practically every people in countries where there is a sauna culture would be insane.

I'm not saying that things like infamous "Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction" are good things but if someone is having mental problems now because wardrobe malfunction or because seeing someone running naked on a soccer or rugby field it's likely that there are other issues as well.

I get funny feeling when I try to figure out why American media doesn't seem to be very good managing subjects like nudity in media in meaningful manner. Or maybe fighting against nudity is just a good business.

Yes, it sounds dumm, because you comment is dumm. Why your commen was dumm? Because I did not say have sex or be nude in real life. I sayed, that you get nudity outside of games in other ways with computers. How ever, if I want war with computer, I think games is still my best bet. When using just computer.

Point is that hole Mass Effect story is about war in galaxy. It's not about sexual situation. Sure, it does have romance in minor side situations.  Why to hell would game need nudity to anything? I mean what's the purpose of nudity in game?

Nudity has only one purpose and I don't think that's purpose of Mass Effect game, is it?

No one said it's the sole purpose of the game. It's optional. You don't have to partake in it. I don't think anyone in this thread, or on this entire forum ever even implied Mass Effect is all about nudity or romance.

It's a nice side story that brings the characters closer to reality for a player who engrosses him/herself in the story and characters. It brings a different side to them instead of just blowing things up constantly and killing people. Mass Effect is not at all just about romance or nudity, the same way it is not all about war and fighting. You're gravely mistaken if think that's all the game is about.

I don't need more bare skin than the game already has, but I don't have anything against it either.

I never sayed anything like nudity been wrong in anyway. I sayed Mass Effect GAME doesn't need it. You get the difference.

Romance is a part of life. It makes the characters more realistic.   How many soldiers do you think don't sleep with their wife or girlfriend before they go off to war? Sure, some might not... but most do, and that's the reason such scenes do have their place in Mass Effect.

What, by the way is dumm? I'm not sure I know this word.

are you one of those poeple who giggle when the hear the word penis? ME is an adult game with adult situations. if you dont like it, thats no ones problem but your own. as a matter of fact, he only way you can see the sex scene, is by your own doing. so congrats, its your own fault.
