Mass Effect Nudity Controversy 2 Years Later?

I was browsing around the internet and I ran across the report. I was so stunned by the report, I had to buy the game and play it for myself.
I guess I can thank FoxNews for getting me hooked on the best game ever, but I will not bother. Instead, I will thank Bioware for making some of the most amazing and immersive games out there.
Bioware should have looked at it as free publicity and kept doing what they were doing.
My two cents..

Even God of War, a series that is steeped in blood, gore, sex and nudity has yet to get any flak from the news media.
God of war gets out of it because of the source material. Some of the greek myths were almost that bad. I mean everything in it would have fitted in greek myth or a Norwegian heavy metal group.
Nothing that new...

Source material is not my concern, my main argument is that many of the idiots out there don't give any flak to games like Mortal Kombat and God of War anymore, yet they pick on games that are much more tame by comparison. Also, God of War may be based off of mythology that goes back thousands of years, but the game was made in this modern day along with other games that are far from its level of graphic presentation.

It's not even about children seeing these scenes. The game is rated M. Whether the game gets distributed to people of that age is not Bioware's responsibility, nor is it the end of the universe if a 14 year old sees a penis, boob or vagina.
If you are so bent on making video games look bad, then point the finger at Best Buy and the like not screening children appropriately for M rated games. But if you actually want to put your air time to use , FOX, complain about the lack of screening of children who buy alcohol, and then crash and kill families in motor vehicle accidents. There is nothing wrong with nudity or sexuality, never has been.

It is pretty much unanimously decided that ME1's was berated in a childish, unintellectual, and uninformed manner. When Jack Thompson calls you out for having a baseless argument then you might as well just shut up and turn the camera and mic off.
Fox News....What do you expect from people who have the collective IQ of a catfish?

Christianity, pretty much. No, not trying to incite a religious debate, it's just general fact that Christianity imposed a ridiculous amount of uptightness (and overall silliness in terms of perception of the world and common sense) into the human race that's been passed down and passed off as being 'morally correct' throughout the generations.
wait, I know this forum is not about religious debate, but I'd say Catholicism and Puritanism, more than Christianity.....I read the whole Bible (unlike many devoted catholics here in Italy) and I can assure you that there's nothing written against sex or nudity, as long as there's love. There are statements against prostitution and promiscuity, but not against sex, that is one of the many gifts of God

Adding nudity may reduce sales. That's the way I see it.

Bioware isn't swayed in any way by Fox news. They are swayed by economics, if anything.

It's an M rating either way... The only reason it'd matter if there are parents out there who buy their not "M" children M games unless there's nudity in it. If so, way to half-ass it parents of the world.

Cooper (nervously laughing): nohoo...
Geoff: Right... then STFU!
You can see he wanted to say that, but just changes his mind in time
Watched the "debate" for the first time a few week ago and it was ridiculous. An "expert" who hasn't even played the game, a debate leader (blond bimbo) who is clearly biased and an actual person who played the game gets shut off when he's telling them the truth. And really why mass effect? There are games out there which have much worse sex scenes in it, sometimes you even have to press the buttons to bone a chick. Plus you can also play as a woman and sleep with Kaiden, but that appearantly is ok, as long as you're not a male you won't see the other gender as lust objects...

I have been two times in Amsterdam, that is I have spent two weeks of my life in Amsterdam. After watching the Fox News Youtube I became scared in real about the possibility of Fox News people ruling the world.
You really managed to scare me, and that is very very rare for me.

Ah yes, that was retarded and scary. I'd strongly advice a fellow countryman not to watch it though, indoctrination is very real and not limited to Reapers

Instead of going after the sims 3 for a mod that turns all characters completely naked, they go after ME or miranda taking off her shirt to reveal a bra for a love scene. Even MGS 4 had a scene near the beginning when solid snake accidentally smacks the male part off a greek sculpture while he was posing next to it to camo himself. Or Uncharted 2 had that kinda awkward love scene where Chloe and Nate had sex.

Fox News is a joke. I like to think of it as Inside Edition or ET on Fox. It's more like a adult rumor and scandal show than an actual news source.
It is parody. I still find it amazing how it can be real. But what is scary is that many people take Fox News seriously and see the world as Fox News present it. What is even more scary is that those people have right to vote.
