When I arrive and talk to Callum I get a cutscene triggered. When the orcs show up and attack the area it will go to the next part of the cutscene as usual with Callum telling people to attack and such. Somewhere in this point, the game flips out, blacks out the screen, comes back with frozen video and working audio, and blacks out again, freezing up completely, forcing me to kill the game to exit it. I have attempted to do this cutscene with no companions and lowered graphics. Short of rolling back my graphics, is there a way I can skip straight to the fight that is supposed to ensure afterwards (skipping the cutscene or something), or is there some other fix i can try?

Do you have DirectX 9.0c installed?
it happily co-exists with Dx11
( not sure if the game even plays without 9c .. i highly doubt its your drivers )

Yeah, This isn't the only older game I have played. 9.0c is on here. The game ran decently enough with the occasional random crash up until this point, but this one is 100% reproducible, causing me to be stuck. Kinda infuriating, even if I've beat it a bunch in the past :/

I looked through Callum's conversation file ('13_callum' in module '1300_Old_Owl_Well'). Not much happens in the segment leading to the battle (or the battle itself); so you should be okay to skip it and proceed to his secondary conversation line. Setting the following stuff might just get you there, without breaking anything:
before talking to Callum
DebugMode 1
rs ga_local_int("OOWAttack", "1", "1300_Old_Owl_Well")
rs ka_hotspot_show("1001flagon")
rs ga_local_int("CallumState", "1", "1300_Old_Owl_Well")
rs ga_global_int("13bOrcRaidOver", "1")
DebugMode 0
goodLuck! because it doesn't actually fix anything .. (if you use it, careful of zeros and ohs, case, etc.)
honestly, i'm not even sure it'll work, but there it is as best i figur

Didn't work. The triggering cutscenes still happen and it still freezes up the game. Thanks though.

working ...
think I missed something critical to skipping Callum's first line (i mean, obviously I did, but i think I see it)
you could Try replacing "1300_Old_Owl_Well" in both lines above with "$MODULE" (with quotes)
it's one of those 'fine points' I'm not sure of ..

yep, I goofed.
$MODULE should be an alias for the moduleTag, which in this case is "OldOwlWell" - not "1300_Old_Owl_Well".
so if "$MODULE" doesn't work right, then try "OldOwlWell"
sry & tks

ps. disregard everything I just said.
except trying "$MODULE" in place of "1300_Old_Owl_Well" (although i think they're in theory the same object)

Hello I'm having a similar problem in the same area but earlier in the game, the first time I arrive at Old Owl Well when i meet Grobnar right after his cutscene the game crashes and says "Neverwinter Nights 2 has stopped working" i was wondering would skipping his cutscene keep this from happening and if so how would i go about doing that?

When you say "right after his cutscene", do you mean during his cutscene? If so, what is the last line spoken ( or clicked on )
Or does the cutscene finish okay, but the game crashes when taking the worldMap?
Is the game up to date, v1.023?
What edition (GoG, etc), and what's yer OS/vidcard ?

As soon as Grobnar finishes his last line it freezes then says "Neverwinter Nights 2 has stopped working" it only happens at the one part i can go anywhere else and do anything else but as soon i try to go throught that cutscene it crashes

At that point, it's supposed to open the Party Selection window. It could be a problem with the grobnar.ros or ROSTER.rst file.
It also reverts from cutscene to your normal view mode. Maybe try going there in a different mode (Character v. Exploration v. Strategy).

You say it's after Grobnar's last line, but if it's crashing ....
His last line should be "Oh, you won't regret this. I mean, too often." I think.

depends what the PC says:
1. packmule response
2. won't regret this ...
3. Excellent!
This is a bear.
Try just opening the Party GUI, to see if it crashes:
`
DebugMode 1
rs ka_gui_party_select("", 1)
DebugMode 0
`
If not, add Grobnar and try it again:
`
DebugMode 1
rs ga_roster_campaignnpc("grobnar", 0)
rs ka_gui_party_select("", 1)
DebugMode 0

Let me relate my own graphics history.
I have an old NVIDIA card. Around Dec 2011, I updated the driver automatically, and the game stopped working. I mean the crashes were constant. So I reverted to the previous driver, since it's an old card, and turned off auto updates.
The in Dec 2012, I had some system problems and I had to basically reinstall my OS with hundreds of updates - which included the latest NVIDIA update. Miraculously, this update actually works and didn't wreck the game. In fact, several times since, the game has gone dark for a couple seconds (except for the mouse, which stays normal), then shows an overhead view of the area for a couple seconds, then goes back to normal. The timing and location of these events suggest that crashes were averted.
In short, the NVIDIA driver worked, then it didn't work, now it works again, maybe better.
If this rings any bells you might want to look into driver updates.

ok, i think i got something worked through:
Get ready to take the worldMap to meet Grobnar. But before doing the worldMap open the console and enter these commands:
DO NOT TRANSITION BEFORE ENTERING ALL OF THESE
`
DebugMode 1
rs ga_roster_campaignnpc("grobnar", 0)
rs ga_roster_selectable("grobnar", 1)
rs ka_gui_party_select("", 1)
DebugMode 0
`
Get Grobnar into your party!
`
DebugMode 1
rs ga_reset_level("grobnar", 1)
rs ga_global_int("00_bGrobnar_Joined", "1")
rs ga_global_int("Grobnar_Available", "1")
rs ga_global_int("10_met_grobnar", "1")
DebugMode 0
`
- watch the console for "execution successful" after each one. Then try the worldMap
