Is that confirmed? I always assumed that these armors were the starting outfits. Wasn't Hawke wearing the mage armor in the screenshots ofthe starting level?
The beginning of the game has Verric telling the legend of Hawke. Those three are Hawke's legendary armors. After the first few minutes, it switches to what really happens and Hawke is in basic armor again.

what if the armor is sold on the emporium?
if it is i know it wont be cheap but it would be awesome especially if it level up with you like the fadeshear
That's a very cool idea. I'd like that.

I'm still really torn though as to whether I should play warrior or mage first... and then I suppose I should at least try out the rogue seeing as how they can do all that new flipy stuff now and there is the possibility of hoods instead of those dumb leather cap things... decisions, decisions.

I would go as a mage if I were you. The mage class has been upped amazingly since DA:O, plus, you can use a blade with some staffs and use melee attacks and magic

I was actually just wondering that myself. I feel like it's a little ridiculous. What I really want to do with it is stick an open book on it for leisure reading while walking around Kirkwall and then be able to say, "Look Ma, no hands!"mr_luga wrote...
I would acually like to add a question, do any of us really know what that metallic thing on his chest is? That sticks out? What's the point of it? Isaac in Dead Space got it too. I never figured it out
But hey, maybe that's just me...

I think the warrior armor actually looks the coolest. I love the heavy plate while stil keeping the litheness of the one shown in the Destiny trailer, which is the mage armor. The red scarf around the neck just sold warrior for me. That and BethanyDubya75 wrote...
Damn, the Mage armor looks amazing! Warrior and Rogue looks OK but not as cool...
Rogue armor the most interesting.

I have seen something similar to it in medieval armor books that I read back in gradeschool. It seems to have been useful in glancing blows off while making the neck more flexible. This is simply a guess howevermr_luga wrote...

The one on the left is the female mage (with a sword-staff), and the warriors are wielding great swords in that pic.

I'm actually curious about this too. does anyone know what the name is for that piece? or the purpose it's supposed to serve? it seems like it's a rather ineffectual piece of armor, being so low on the chest, but it also looks like it might be some kind of an 'uppercut deflector' type thing...

i just hope the emporium lets you buy it or after one year in kirkwall you get itmr_luga wrote...
If I got that legendary armor quickly I'd prolly go mage first, but I hate wearing robes around in a game that's really being hyped up to be this epic idealized thing.

It's just a visual embellishment.
... What? <.<; Why?
The outfit is nice enough, it just looks weird and in the way to me. Who came up with the idea to put up a random metal .. Basket thing on the chest? o.o
