You failed once. You'll fail again. But I don't mind you trying.

The only thing you cannot do is change their armor-- you can only upgrade their existing armor.

What???
So say I recruit Beth and I don't like her robes... I'm stuck with those robes the whole game? Or does that simply mean Beth can only use Robes and not Plate armor? Hopefully the latter because that makes sense.

Sadly, it's the former. Companions have fixed appearance. It might change as the game progresses, but it is tied to the timeframe, not the player input.

Wow... that's really quite a bummer! Oh well... I'm sure it will be a lot better than ME2 style.

So another question... I'm a warrior and our team kills this Dragon God. Dragon God dies drops an amazing robe... I can do nothing with it? Or will this Dragon God simple drop a Robe with Beth's name on it and only she can use it.   Not sure if my question makes perfect sense...

Hmmmm this looks just like DAO's old inventory system. Does this mean we'll be able to change our party members' inventory too?

You can change their weapon, so long as it's a type they use (you can give Aveline 1-handed swords and shields, for instance, but not 2-handed swords). You can also equip them with things like amulets, belts, rings, etc. The only thing you cannot do is change their armor-- you can only upgrade their existing armor.

Thats great! I heard that you could not change their weapons and amulets/belts/rings. The others say bummer but I'm happy because i thought it was mutch worse.

But they will change armor sometimes, right? I have seen pics of Aveline with armor and plain or is that just you changing her look?

I suppose you can sell it. Of course, you can wear it, if it isn't mage only. But I don't think a warrior Hawke would like a mage robe.

Most likely, random armor drops will be tied to your class. This is speculation, though.

Maybe there won't be random armor drops. Look at what they did with ME2--every item had a set location or vendor.

I do hope the "stats" and  "armor"  that our companions received in DAO/DAO: Awakening via their helmets are compensated for in the rest of their gears.

*Loves Sebastian's outfit. It's really cool.*

Considering we've been shown an honest character inventory and that they've even implemented a rating system for items, I'd say random armour drops are to be expected. I could be wrong, though.

But I am curious... Can you just go into the companion's inventory and completely remove their outfit, leaving them in their underwear?
I'm curious about the new underwear.

Hmm, it's possible. Chances are that we can just let our Hawke naked, tough. But now that they all have different body types, I expect the sex scenes to be better.

This may have been changed because it was mentioned relatively early, but stripping Hawke naked on the inventory makes him actually go to the "default" clothing (whatever that means), rather than leaving him naked.
And while Lady Hawke pictures are a treat, I still want to see her in movement.

Guess, we'll have to wait. If I remember we were promised new underwear.

I don't mind fixed appearances at all, I loved how Morrigan looked in DA:O and I kept those original robes until I got the Robes of Possession which increased her stats......were there robes that would've made Morrigan better before I got those. Yes.  Would she still be Morrigan to me if her outfit wasn't the feathery garb.  No.

It all depend on what perspective you look at it in.  I already love Isabella's look and wouldn't change it even if I could, the same went for Miranda in ME2.  Fixed appearances is really what you make out of it, besides the stats are what really matters.

I've never seen BioWare create an "off looking" main character (that you have to use static clothes for) before, so I doubt that they'll disappoint. :PImage IPB

The only customization that matters to me, is the ability to make my Hawke look like MY Hawke

I'm sorry to be unable to substantiate, but I definitely recall reading this from a dev at one stage, talking specifically about the stuff  bosses would drop being tied to your class

Lots of armour isn't class locked for Hawke, just useless & dependent on stats. Some class only armour.

I wonder if Bioware will put new unique outfits out for companions in DLC. They did that for ME2, didn't they?
