I think there should be an official Spectre armor, like what Tela Vasir was wearing. There were only Spectre weapons in the first ME game. Was wondering why there was no Spectre armor.

That could work, made from salvaged pieces from the attack on the Citadel gifted by the Turian counciler :)

I've wanted an uber set of Spectre gear for a long time actually. I mean Spectre-grade weapons were in ME1, but the armor is where the real eye-sex is.

If there's no actual set in ME3, they should allow you to engrave faction insignias onto your armor like N7, Systems Alliance, Citadel, Spectre and Cerberus.

Well N7 is Alliance special ops. I think spectre armor would be real cool.

Maybe there's no such thing - and Tela Vasir just had the logo custom painted on?  Although I do wonder why Shepard didn't seem to get access to the Spectre Req officer in ME2

I believe Spectre armor to be a wonderful idea; it would be very fitting for Shepards that support the Citadel Council. Having an option to choose Spectre/Cerberus/Alliance armor depending on where your loyalities lie would be just badass at any rate.

There was Spectre armor in ME1.  It got dummied out:

^That was HK Shadow Works wasn't it? I always thought of that as armor "marketed" towards spectres rather than being "spectre master gear". Oh wait, I vaguely remember that if you do console cheats there is a spectre master gear armor, but it's just the same as the colossus armor (glad that got cut out).

I kinda prefer the idea that each spectre gets their own customised armor from whichever manufacturer(s) they want and that there isn't an official armor as such.

More options are always good, especially more armor components, so a set of Spectre gear that's broken up into pieces like the Kestrel Armor would be great on that front, but I'd hate another single piece suit with a forced on helmet like Collector or Terminus armor.

I don't see a story issue either, because regardless of your choices and your standing with the council, it would seem likely that either Cerberus, your research resources on the Normandy, or a certain someone after the LotSB DLC could easily get you those components.

A lot, if not all or nearly all, of the unused armors used that exact same "generic" model, only with different textures. That said, I did like the H-K Shadow Works Janissary variant (which was unused of course) of that model.

I don't like the idea of 'official' Spectre armor. It's not a unit it's a revered status given only to the select few who are badass enough to earn it. Spectre's do things their own way.. they wear whatever kind of armor they want.

Do not want. If was the case, it would be the most powerful armor and everyone would wear only that armor..

Two things:
One, it wouldn't have to be the most powerful armor.
And two, why should it matter if everyone used it? It's a single player game.
Besides Collosus armor was the most powerful armor in ME1 by far and not everyone used that.

In ME1 you had more stats to look at than ME2 and you could decide which stat was more important to you. Thus some armors might have been more attractive due to one aspect over another. Thus there wasn't a need for a one all powerful "the best" suit of armor. Which is a good thing. Having that freedom is nice. Same applied to the weapons really. The Spectre grade weapons were superior in most respects but not all, depended on what you looked for in your weaponry.

ME2 could have a Spectre grade suit or perferably, pieces, with a really expensive price to add more flavor. But I think ME2 got one thing right and that is that it is up to the Spectre to decide what they use and thus a "Spectre grade" item of any kind wouldn't seem right. No two Spectres look alike anyway.

the armor that the asari spectre has on me2 can be worn, it just doesnt have the spectre logo on it, but yeah, something that would actually be called "spectre gear" would be a nice thing to have in me3

Excuse my shameless self-promotion...

Not entire armor sets, but still better than nothing.

As for the lack of proper Spectre Armor, well... if you choose to be reinstated as a Spectre, then I see no reason why you shouldn't be allowed to have their emblem on you.

I should point out that spectres are in some cases spies- spies don't have uniforms, they're counter productive, I know people will point out the decal on Tela's armour but she seemed like a 'brute force' kinda gal and it could probably be covered, or that symbol is rarely seen by non-spectres.

Acording to Mordin the Spectres are based  off the STG.
