I searched, but I couldn't find this answered definitively elsewhere, so...

From one of the Xbox gameplay videos, it appeared that the pause function works differently there from the way it works on the PC, in that when you assign someone an action the game immediately jumps back into real-time gameplay.

This kind of sucks – I like to be able to pause and assign several party members actions, then unpause when I'm good and ready.  Does anyone know if this is indeed the case?  Or had the people in the video I saw just not got their settings sorted?

Anyone know?

I'm guessing you saw it on Giantbomb? I have nothing against the people there, but they couldn't find the tactics screen when it was right in front of them so I wouldn't doubt that they simply overlooked the option to stay in pause after assigning an attack.

Well that's what I'm hoping. It would be good to have it confirmed though.

It was mentioned by dev's in an earlier thread that you can change it in the Options menu. If you have it on Toggle like the people in Giantbomb did, whenever you use the radial menu and select and action, it'l close again.

A dev said that if you put it on Hold then you can assign actions to all your members in the radial menu while holding the trigger and then let go and they all do their thing.

He mentioned a couple times during the video that he didn't have it all figured out.. I think he was just kind of excited to play.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was similar to the pauzed controls in mass effect. RB or LB to summon the wheel, and as long as you keep those pressed the game will remain paused, the wheel remains open and you can do whatever you like.

I hope that they upgrade from mass effect's radial wheel. the wheel was a nice change but it was often weird to hold the right/left bumper and move the stick and then press A on what you want. I like the wheel but i hope that they change it at least a little bit

Those are the controls. And from what i've seen and heard, these are correct.

I don't think anyone should bash the guys at Giantbomb. They pretty much explicitly say that this is a first impressions hands-on preview. They're also pretty unprofessionally professional, intentionally.

I feel that it gives a more gamer's view on things from the get-go. It shouldn't be confused with a in-depth review after having played through the entire game and analyzed everything to bits.

It'll probably be the same as the Xbox 360 except different controls.
