I have no idea if this goes here or not.
Basically I'm looking to move my ME1 savegames, without losing them completely, I just need the space on the hdd partition they're on. Now, I was looking for something else, but I came across an interesting fact whilst looking: I can't seem to register my copy of ME1 anywhere?
I own both ME1 and ME2...ME2 is registered, I can't seem to register ME1. and I also need to move these savegames and be able to move them back, I have a funny feeling that will never happen UNLESS I can register. If someone could help me out, it'd be much appreciated.
Problem with registering ME1?

You can simply backup the Mass Effect folder (in you documents) and put it back when you're done.

I tried that once (i at one stage had two (very much legal) copies of ME1, the first one just had a really badly, badly broken disc and I had to buy a new harddrive because the old one had failed rather suddenly. I'm wondering if it's because the old savegames were from a game with a different cd key?

Because I don't know if it didn't work because it was a savegame from what was essentially a different copy of ME1, and I really don't *want* to lose my savegames. Didn't work before, why should it work again, and all that?

Save games should work universally across whatever CD key is used. The website masseffectsaves.com is pretty good proof of that.
Back up the entire save games folder under my documents/bioware/mass effect/save. When needed, put that folder back, and then import as needed for ME2
