More than one installation of NWN2 on the same PC?

I am modding a campaign that will only use NWN2 and so I have reinstalled NWN2 without MotB or SoZ, which I also own. The reason is to remove any likelihood of using the MotB or SoZ content, such as textures or items. However, now I want to use MotB and SoZ but keep a vanilla clean NWN2 setup.

In short, can NWN2 be installed to 2 separate locations on the same PC?

Every time I try the setup wants to uninstall the existing version. I was hoping for a dialog box that would allow me to browse to a different install location. Should I persist? I have more than one licence of the game, so that is not an issue.

IIRC, a simple backup copy of your game folder will do (don't install twice). Install a "pure" NWN2 and patch that up, then backup that folder under a different name. I guess the best way would patching up the vanilla game, copy (not move) the folder elsewhere, then run the uninstaller for the original game folder and make a new installation with both expansions. You can then run your NWN2 MotB/SoZ normally, and if you need the vanilla game, run the exe files in the copied folder (or make some renamed desktop shortcuts to those).

Thanks for the help. I did almost as you said, except I didn't uninstall the original NWN2. This is the procedure I followed, in case anyone else wants to do the same, and it seems to be OK.

1. Copy the whole game folder (mine was G:\\Games\\NWN2) to a new location (I wanted it next to the original so called it G:\\Games\\NWN2_vanilla)

2. Update the original NWN2 to MotB and then SoZ

3. Created new shortcuts to the NWN2_vanilla executables (nwn2main.exe et al)

Thanks again.
