Patience is a virtue we could all use. I wonder if Bodahn has some for sale?
That ****** would jack up the price too much anyway.

I`ve been playing the mass effect and dragon age franchises and always irks me about the games is the really awfull graphics.
Bioware appears to be consistently half a generation behind it`s competitiors. I`ve played bioware games for the story, but i tend to buy games on large part for their graphics as well.
Even Dragon age II which was supposed to have upgraded graphics looks years old already and it`s not even out yet.
Gameplay graphics look foggy with bland textures and awkward gestures. I love a good story, but if the gameplay and graphics aren`t up to par then, for me at least, the entertainment value takes a dive.
With everything that has been said about improved graphics it was depressing to find that the actual graphical difference is negligible- i doubt there will be an overhaul these last two months. Afterall the game has to enter production shortly if it`s to reach the outlets in time.
I was going to pre-order the game, but these last two weeks looking at the gameplay footage have turned me away. I`ll wait for the Eurogamer: Digital Foundry and IGN reviews before i decide whether to actually buy the game at all.
I had hoped Bioware put more effort into designing the game- there are so many good looking games on this generation i`m left utterly bewildered as to how BioWare manages to consistently lag so far behind the curve.
If BioWare simply lacks the competence to do the design work why not stick to making stories and gameplay concepts while hiring someone else to do the graphical presentation?
It`s a legitimate question- no one has accused BioWare of cutting edge graphics- maybe cutting edge effort with outdated graphics engines, but not cutting edge graphics..

Limbo is great - an artistic game.
There were plenty of great ps1 and ps2 games. That is not the point. Point is the graphics comparison within the current generation. I loved the original silent hill and thought i looked great but i would never play it again because by todays standards it looks like crap and it would ruin my memories of it..
ME 1 and 2 and DAO would be far more impressive with updated graphics. It`s not an unreasonable assumption and it`s far from impossible. It would have been possible to develop those games with far superior graphics and certainly it would have been possible to develop DA2 with better graphics. It`s not an unreasonable expectation and it`s certainly not unreasonable to wonder why BioWare consistently stay so far behind what can potentially be achieved.
Foggy visuals, bland textures, poor lighting, crap shadows and minimalistic environments.
Lets look at this another way- Red dead redemption might not have had cutting edge graphics either- which was a developmental choice. However, the game had great lighting and the environment came to life in a way that none of the BioWare games do. Environments in ME are stale at the best of times and even if DAO environments seem to have more IN them they just don`t come to life like they did in Red dead redemption.
What i`m getting at is that BioWare makes great stories and an epic universe, but they seem lazy when it comes to the presentation of it. They lift you up with the stories, but soaring on that epicness it`s difficult, at least for me, to get passed the blandness of environments and average graphics- which there really is no reason for them have. It should not be that difficult for them to provide a presentation that does justice to their stories

Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 had decent graphics at their time of release. But Dragon Age Origins had crappy graphics at its time of release. And looking at the screenshots released, Dragon Age 2 would have the same, if not worse, graphics quality as Dragon Age Origins.
It would be really sarcastic as in March two highly anticipated games will be released, Dragon Age 2 and Crysis 2. Though the two games are not of the same genre, it would be fun to see that while Crysis 2 has the best graphics, Dragon Age 2 still only has the graphics quality half a decade ago.

I love how jaded gamers are today concerning graphics and visuals in a video game. People say that video games are a visual medium and they should please the eye, of course, but not only are graphics NOT the main point to any video game in my opinion but art is seen differently by different people. Maybe at almost 23 I am getting too old and just can't deal with all these high glossy, 3D graphics that everyone loves: but I personally find some graphics nowadays on game systems TOO high spec, so much so that they take away from the story and the gameplay.
If you don't like the graphics, don't buy the game, it's as simple as that. There are those of us who like the way Bioware does their games, every aspect of it at that, and old timers like me can't understand how jaded gamers think these days.
