I am getting the same exact problem. I installed disc 2 to my hard drive but I am not getting any of the DLC or Awakening. Levi Dryden showed up at camp to start Warden's Keep but it says I still have to pay MS points to download it. Also, the main menu Downloadable Content menu shows that I have to pay for all of them. Am I doing something wrong or is it my disc?

@ ObakaSama, unfortunately there is no way to load the content straight to the "flash drive." It needs to be downloaded onto an Xbox HDD first and then transferred. And no, it didn't take two employees. It took one to man the register, while the other was doing the expansion disc for me.

@ Killer, I know I don't need Xbox live (technically). But, here's the clincher (and a tip for anyone having this problem). Here's what I did (and you can do) if you are running off an Arcade version of Xbox:

Had the game store install the expansion discs onto one of their used HDDs, then transferred it to my flash drive (when game is put in it will says something like "Unknown DLC Corrupt").

I don't know what made me think of this after ObakaSama's drm transfer suggestion (since it wan't installed with my gamer tag).

I took the disc out and set Xbox to not play upon disc entry. Then I put the Expansion (2nd) disc in and told it to play and I got the same error that I need a HDD to install. Then, I backed up an pushed the Y button to explore content again. Read all the downloads then I restarted my Xbox with the Expansion disc in. When done loading I went to memory settings kept it in that menu and took the second disc out and put in the first disc (Origins). Then I read all inspected all the Origins dlc.

After that, I backed out to the My Xbox portion then to the game and pushed play. When asked what drive to use I told it the "flash drive." After I did that, Xbox Live said something like "there is a new past EAv1.0.2. Would you like to install. I installed the patch and presto. The 4 missing dlc Awakening, Witch Hunt, Leliana's Song, Darkspawn Chronicles and Golems of Agmwotsitcalled all open and play when you go to the new game option. Now, I can play all the dlc. After all that headache - I am happy.

I hope this helps someone else going through this problem. @Obakasama, any idea as to why the route I took made everything work?

@glasshalfsmashed, as you can see I'm not expert.  Are you running the second disc off of a Xbox HDD or a flash drive?

xCult Herox: as curious as I am as a person I wouldn't even bother questioning why it worked. I'm just glad that for whatever reason you tried what you did that it worked. (I would hazard a guess that somehow it synchronized the data allowing you access). *Scratches head* However, it at least provides a template for a solution for others with a similar problem in the future. Enjoy the game!

glasshalfsmashed: the first thing that pops into my head would be to check whether the content has been installed. (Eliminating the obvious things.) If not, then install again using standard procedure.

I would also ask how you installed it. As I understand it (I own UE for the PC and not the 360) inserting disc two and letting it play brings up a menu asking you what you want to install. Is that correct? If so, is that how you installed? If it is, then I suggest installing the other way. That is insert disc, let it play, exit to dashboard, press 'Y' to do the manual install for most games and see if that works.

@ObakaSama, me ether. I am glad it works too. The past several days have been so frustrating.

and to answer the "second" question (from 6 days ago) the 'dlc' from the ultimate edition only works with the ultimate edition disc 1
Try to use an earlier origins disc and you will be told the dlc is corrupt and needs to be deleted and reinstalled

Get Magna Carter, is that really true that it isn't possible to use the UE dlc with disc 2 of the UE (which a user would have had to install from)?

That is some strange coding. Perhaps understandable for dlc connected in-game to Origins, but for standalone dlc that is just...weird.

disc 2 is installed from, disc 1 is played from.
so put in disc 2 it applys the patches (that were available when submitted to Microsofr for approval -so no Witch Hunt patch) then select which dlc to install, eject, put in disc 1 and play
So after installing you don't need disc 2 but you still need disc 1
(older versions of origins will not allow you to play if ultimate edition 'dlc' is present)
This is deliberate from Bioware to stop people getting the ultimate edition and then returning it for a refund (after installing) or from sharing the 'dlc' with friends.
Its not really that different from requiring a disc to be in the disc tray even after installing the game to a hard drive
(I understand some people had been exploiting Bethsheda's looser approach to get free 'dlc')

I was aware of the dlc (and Awakening) being on disc 2, just not aware of the need to use disc 1 to play the standalone dlc (like Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana's Song, Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt) as well.

What you wrote about the disc check for UE does make sense to prevent such practice. That's always been the case with any game I've installed on the 360 (and still some people I've noticed think it's intrusive).

Thanks for the clarification.
