I hope they bring back Light/Medium/Heavy Armor appearances in ME3

Don't get me wrong. There's something to be said for ME2's customizable armor pieces, but I do miss my FemShep's skin-tight Onyx X bodysuit from ME1. I hope BioWare brings back the different armor classes in ME3 or at least mimics them in appearance with a less bulky armor set, preferably with shoulder pads than can be removed.

I hate that my Infiltrator went from wearing basically a black latex catsuit in ME1 to looking like a professional football player in ME2.

NOTE: I'm not advocating a return to armor specializations. Simply the addition of slimmer and less bulky aethstetic options in accordance with ME1's Light and Medium armor sets.

I'm fine if the Squad has a fixed appearance like ME2, I just hope that they get two appearances, one for Combat and one casual.

And with Shep, it would be cool to see the Engineer, Sentinel and Adept in a Light variant, the Vanguard and Infiltrator in a Medium variant and then only the Soldier in a Heavy variant of the potential Armors available in ME3.

LMH Armor = No. No. No.

More options for customizations... THAT I can high five you on. I love tweaking my character's look to that degree.

I hated being restricted to the light armor in ME1. But points for not being the only squadmate who had to wear armor.

I can see that point too.  My solution is customize all outfits for all squadies.  It would be like the Sims and  I ****ing love the Sims.

I didn't like the light armour, it was horrible looking. Just give us a lot more armour pieces :)

Yeah, this is pretty much what I'd want too, especially with the first point.

I think different armor styles for each class would be nice from an aesthetic pov. I wouldn't want things to go beyond that though, as I like the current way that armor is balanced in ME2. For me, it'd be best if BW would come up with three styles of armor for ME3 while keeping the modular armor customization in ME2.. This would mean a lot more work for the art team, but hey, they aren't completely overhauling things like they were while making ME2.

This. ME1 was a big pain in the ass that required frequent "Save/Reload" just because the playthroughs can royally screw us over, and I'm not a big fan of sacrificing skill points just to wear a certain type of armor. Light armor was little more than an overglorified scuba space-suit, and Heavy Armor was just outright ugly, and had *VERY LITTLE* practicality (i.e. **** resistance against Biotics and Tech, Shorter sprint duration, trade-offs not worth it.).

I would vastly prefer more armour options, some of which are sleek and slinky and light.

God no....I hated that armor system. I'm glad they did away with it; the armor system had no practical value, aside from cosmetic. The way it was implemented in ME 2 was better.

The points I spent to give Shepard Heavy Armor could have been used elsewhere....like increasing my sniper rifle proficiency (thankfully, they also corrected that issue in ME 2 as well).

Except I hate both the Heavy and Light Armor. I always took Medium every time in ME1 just because it looked normal.

I would have liked to been able to customize the entire squad.

This. The bulky armour in ME2 looks really silly on, say, Adepts or Engineers. I realise Shepard is probably stronger than she was before the Lazarus project, but since most everyone else seems to get by wearing only sleek leather outfits, it would be nice to have the option for lighter armour for Shepard as well.

No, no, no, no, no. I HATED armor reqs in the original Mass Effect. It isn't medieval times any more where the materials available from which to make armor caused problems, EVERY Alliance Marine should be able to wear any armor just like any Alliance Marine can fire weapons they qualified to use.

That being said, I've certainly got no issue with some armors LOOKING like light armor. I mean, that's a big part of the reason all of my femsheps only rock the DEFAULT N7 chest armor. It's the only one that's even close to being form fitting.

Right I didn't mention how it could function with gameplay. I figured the Soldier gets the biggest health boost because of the heavier armor.

So then the Vanguard and Infiltrator would then get a boost to health because of the Medium armor also.

I think the classes sorta reflect that in ME2 (for the Soldier class at least), but it's not exactly visually reflected in-game.

I also have a question, would having the Light, Medium and Heavy armors, simply be three models to work from for Shep?

Except I hated Heavy Armor in ME1. I shouldn't be forced to wear armor I don't like just because my class is outfitted that way.

Having to sort out my squads gear was a right pain. S'not the sims. it's srs.

They're adults. Let them dress themselves. I think some people have some sort of fetish on here.

Something like that. I'm certainly not advocating a return to armor-specializations, if that was the impression I gave. I think I know better than to ever delude myself into thinking those will return.

Basically, I just want to be able to replicate the look of ME1's Light and Medium armors (sleeker, more form fitting, no bulky shoulder pads, etc) as opposed to only be able to work with "Heavy" armor even on an Engineer or an Adept like in ME2.

Wait, what forced you? I'm a bit confused.

I can see why Light Armors are not liked.

Maybe stick with Medium like in ME2 and Heavy as an option at least?

You know what? Having to sort out my own gear is a pain too. So is having to choose a weapon. I wish the game would just decide everything for me so I could concentrate on shooting what's in front of me without dealing with all that extraneous crap.

If you'll pardon the over-exagerated sarcasm, my reply to you would be "S'not Gears of War. it's an RPG."

Not being able to customize your party's armor t'aint very RPG-like.

I didn't think the default chest piece was too bad as far as going for a lighter look goes.

Please edit original post just to make it match. I'll be supportive of this if this is the case.
