I'm going to be taking a try at Windows 7 and as such wanted to de-authorise the game on my copy of Windows XP.
However neither the DeAuthManagementTool or deauthMassEffect work. They both tell me that the needed information isn't available and to call customer support.
Before I spend time on the phone, which I am loathe to do because of reasons I will not go into, am I still able to de-authorise the game or should I just accept that I wont be able to play Mass Effect on Windows 7.
Are you still able to de-authorise Mass Effect PC?

Deauth is still there as far as I know. The authentication system needs to stay up so people can re-install, so I don't know why they'd disable the deauthentication part of it.
If you aren't able to deauth and you're out of activations, try contacting EA Support by e-mail or live chat. Running out of activations is exactly the sort of problem they're supposed to be able to help you with. (And, by the accounts I've read on this forum, they actually sound quite good and nice about handling DRM/account stuff.)

Cheers for the reply. Going the live support route sounds like my best option.
