Ever thought about "What if a game company wanted your idea for a monster?" Would you give them your custom monster? And if so, what would it be?
Lets say that Bioware or EA is looking for new ideas for new monsters, and you have the chance to give them your ideas for a monster - post your idea for a monster.
But with every contest or a good selection, theres rules, so here are the ones I think will be the most likely:
Name - What the monster is known as
Health Points - How many hits it can take before ultimately dying of too many wounds, don't go overboard with the number of health it has, make its health match its Level or Tier (see below), the minimum is 50 hp (for very weak or low level/tier monsters) an the maximum is 10 Billion (for the most dangerous to roam the world or area).
Level/Tier - How dangerous is the monster? choose either Tier or level: For level, set from 1 to 100, and how many levels below a person would have to be to stand any chance against it. For Tiers, do it like a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being lowest & 10 being highest). Also, for variety, list the levels this creature will begin at, how many levels it can gain, and what the most strongest version is.
Type - Humanoid, Elemental, Solid or Liquid (coudnt think of a proper word other than liquid), Hunter or Evasive, basically a group that this thing would fit into.
Height/Length - If it is humanoid like, then use Height, but if it is like a tiger or a snake, then use Length
Width - How big around the creature is (for who need an example, get measuring tape an wrap it around the center of an apple, the numbers you get will be the Width of the apple. Measuring it from top to bottom is the height of the apple).
Monophagy - What type of food does it eat (example, Humans are generally Omnivores), for more info:
http://en.wikipedia....rs#By_food_type an click on "By Food Type" for the full list.
Weight - How much it normally weighs and how much weight it will consume regularly (by hour, days, weeks, ect)
Powers/Abilities - Depending on the type of creature it is and it Tier or Level, what powers or abilities does this creature possess or does it possess none at all? If it is Tier one or of a very low level (like 1 to 9), don't give it too much abilities or could be seen as "Over Powered" (it would be like fighting 5 Heavy Mechs in the tutorial of ME2 all alone with just a pistol); don't make it have too much of an unfair advantage. But if it generally appears or spawns in a "challenge" based area as described in the summary (see below), then at least make it killable - no god like powers. And note, every power or ability that the monster has MUST have a small description next to it (example: Fireball - Does 10 - 1164 damage, if fired towards a wall or surface it does splash damage of 15 per second for 20 seconds. can only be used once every 3 mins, and takes 1 min to charge an use).
Intelligence - How smart the monster is (does know when its best to flee? Does it know how to defend itself? Can it learn new things? Or is it psychologically unstable?), give a rank of 1 to 20 (1 being brain dead an 20 being a genuis) for its ability to learn & survive.
Summary - A discription of what the creature does, what method it uses to acquire prey (if any), if it regularly goes about on its or in a group, anything about your monster is to be placed here - its like giving the description of your Renegade or Paragon Sheppard from ME1 or ME2 an how you use him/her. But in the last bit of the description, describe its strengths an its weaknesses, or what it is immune to an what generally hurts it the most.
Extras (optional) - if there's anything extra about the monster you wish to add, place it here. If you wish to add a concept picture of it, please do so, but this is purely up to you. If you have nothing else to add, then type "N/A".
It may seem like a lot to put in here, but in truth its hardly anything - if this were a real "Design your own monster for submission" contest, there would be a much larger array of rules an restrictions to abide by..
And most actual contests does require a picture or 3d model, depending on the rules an ways to be accepted into it. So, if you had a monster that you wanted to be in a game, what would it be?
