I am just asking about this because I will be trying to game out the quests a bit since I read in one of the patch notes that they fixed the problem with being locked out of the quest if you tried to do both canidates quests before getting to the quest lines common joining point

yeah there was a dialog loop that would happen if you were doing both quest lines to determine orzamaars king effectivly resulting in a stalemate and no progress. Quit reload previus save. Pick one and stick with them.
